Cant see anything happening with a RB until AWB is sold anyway...

Yep actually think Italy would really suit AWB. Dumfries is still living off the rep he built for himself at that Euros/WC with Holland, when you think about it not a lot of quality at full back position throughout Europe.
Get him in and flog AWB.
Between him, Dalot, Shaw and Malacia we’d have a good set of full backs. Martinez even possibility to fill in when fit too.
Probable back 5 for the majority of the season;
Onana
Lindelof Yoro Evans Dalot
No movement re: Ugarte, Zubimendi or Fofana. Get this key area fixed and we'll be onto something good this coming season.
We won't fix everything in one window but CB and CM are key areas. No movement on the CB news either with Branthwaite or De Ligt. I'd be very nervous going into the season with an 18 YO, outstanding as he is, being first choice along with Licha who has been plagued by injuries recently.

Harry Maguire has come out and stated that, as far as he's concerned, he's very much in the manager's plans. To be honest I'd be quite comfortable with him partnering Yoro if required.

I would prefer for the fee it appears West Ham agreed with the club (€15m + €4m add ons) than any deal for Dumfries tbh.
Dalot would probably still start a lot of the games on the right, so maybe his game time can be matched given his injury history, and it's a plus that he can cover both sides too.
I thought the links to that Turkish fella seemed a bit dodgy tbh, never saw one decent account post anything on that deal, so perhaps we're not in for him at all.
Would definitely like another CB, and think we'll get one eventually whether it's a quick deal for De Ligt as soon as someone is sold, or Branthwaite later in the window.
Was hoping for 2 midfield signings too once we made a quick start to the window, but once again the difficulty in moving some of our highly paid players on to new clubs is proving difficult, so can only see 1 CM coming in.
Really not sure why we’re looking to sell AWB if true.
He’s a great defender. Has improved going forwards since he joined and is perfect backup if not first choice (assuming Shaw and Dalot are fit).
We need another LB if anything
Frimpong is more of a RW than a RB tbh.
Don't think there's any point in getting another injury-prone full back (and looking at his history, he is most definitely injury prone).
AWB's fitness issues the past couple of years have gone under the radar slightly but it was really damaging last season, as it meant we weren't really able make use of Dalot's versatility and left us with one recognised full back for large chunks of the season.
Going off the assumption we won't buy 2 new full backs (though maybe we will), I think we have 2 options. Either keep AWB and buy a new LB, or replace AWB with someone reliable which would allow Dalot to cover for Shaw when needed - with Amass also possibly getting some game time and Malacia maybe coming back into the frame at some point.
I'm fine with getting rid of AWB but replacing him with someone else who misses a lot of football makes no sense.

Agree with that.
The only plus side I would see is if our new structure above ETH decide he is a better 'fit' for the football we are wanting to play, and if getting AWB out and him in for a pretty similar cost (not sure who would be on higher wages) then it further improves the chances of us improving as a team in the managers image.

I was unfortunate to catch a Mark Goldbridge video not too long ago saying we should sign him for right back to replace AWB.
How does that guy have 2m subs? Frimpong isn't a right back in a million years. At a push he can play wing back but even that's too defensive for him in my opinion.
He's a winger let's be honest. All his best work is in attack.
Not sure he’s the answer, even as a squad player because of his fitness issues. We really need to take into account players fitness and injury problems when looking for players to buy, this is also true for de Ligt.
