Not massively blown away with who we have signed / rumoured to sign.
Yoro is the exciting one just because of his potential and long list of admirers.
Not convinced on Zirkzee at all. Has all the hallmarks of a flop as his scoring record is very average and he didn't even make the Dutch national squad for the Euros originally. He only got a late call up because of injuries and their forwards are mediocre as hell too.
Mazzraoui can play but his injury record is definitely a huge red flag.
Some of the current squad are going to have to step up massively this season if we are to make it back into the CL.
Are any of these potential RBs signings significantly better than Dalot? I don't really get to see many games apart from United. Even the Euros wasn't the scouting oppurtunity I'd hoped.
Mazraoui is not better than AWB or Dalot IMO

Get him in and flog AWB.
Between him, Dalot, Shaw and Malacia we’d have a good set of full backs. Martinez even possibility to fill in when fit too.
Probable back 5 for the majority of the season;
Onana
Lindelof Yoro Evans Dalot

Two years too late.
We should've enquired about taking him from Ajax when he was free the summer Ten Hag took charge.
I'd go for Kyle Walker-Peters who's pretty solid at both ends of the pitch, has a very good injury record and one year left on his current Southampton deal.

He’s probably not a better defender, but he’s a better footballer than AWB and Dalot though. Would help us going the other way in games where we repeatedly get into good positions and it breaks down because both have pretty awful final balls or build up play. Even if they’ve improved slightly over the years.
I’ll be surprised if Yoro starts the season. I can imagine Maguire and Martinez being the starting pair.

In other news, we've apparently just appointed hirsute non-Dutchman, Andreas Georgson, as a first-team coach, likely as a set-piece specialist. He has previously worked with Arsenal, Brentford and Southampton, where he's credited with quickly transforming their short team from being the second worst at defending corners in the Championship to the best, and also a potent attacking side from corners. He left them in January to become head coach of Lillestrom.

I’ll wait to see how he does, sounds promising though and definitely something we need improvement in.
Last seasons new set piece coach was shiyte, bloke we apparently poached from Chelsea or somewhere. So glad they’ve got rid already.
Has it ever happened before for a coaching team to have 4 full (recent) first team managers?
Ruud obviously recently with PSV, Rene Hake, and now this guy too all coming from managerial roles to be part of Ten Hags staff.
I’m sure money ain’t bad and all that, but it’s still strange. Hope they all have a good input, without it being a ‘too many cooks’ scenario.

Hopefully man, will take time I’m sure but hope to see some good progress over the next few months.
Personally reckon we’ll start slow again, will only have 2 weeks with the full squad being together before the Fulham opener, and that’s with a game v City half way between.

Yes, read about this earlier, interesting addition to our backroom staff. Pretty poor at everything last season in particular defending and attacking set pieces. If indeed set pieces are to be a strong feature of our game, as Wilcox mentioned, then we need all the help we can get.

Personally think it's a massive mistake if we don't improve the midfield though. Our defence didn't stand a chance last season because the midfield balance just wasn't there.
