Yeah but Nickasaurus almost got mugged in 2024. He didn't almost get mugged in 2012. So that shows that those stats are completely meaningless and his method of determining crime rates of "em I just kind of feel em now is worse" is the far more reliable method.

I got mugged in 1997 and 1999.

There is truth to the fact that some areas in London have gotten worse, there are also lots that have gotten better. Peckham, Lewisham, Brixton to name a few.

Interesting day going to an Opticians in London today, formerly Jewish area with Palestinian flags flying out all the windows. Waiting room a few old white folk were openly complaining that there were too many immigrants in front of several brown people including myself.

I also don't know anyone who grew up in London that thinks its changed for the better. But that's a difficult one because certain things are better, and certain things are not. E.g, less racism, more overcrowding and general aggression.

Also a lot of people definitely aren't bothering to report crime anymore for low level incidents, I'm one of them, gave up a couple of years ago after getting an almost instant email response to crime reports saying we have no way of identifying the suspects.

What really fecks me off is these racist scuum identifying themselves as football supporters, with the implication that they speak for all of us. They don't.

I used to live in elephant and castle, proper dive that was but never had any real trouble in London post 2000. I think London just feels more crowded and wild west than it used to, though it was never a particularly calm place.

Elephant and castle is nice and has been for a while, I used to live London Bridge and that was a great area to hangout and never felt rough

I was there before it got gentrified with the metro central conversion and knocking down the estate by the roundabout. Before then it was like a different world once you got walked ten minutes south of borough.

You can't gentrify people though. Unless you stick a suit on Tommy Robertson. Then you have Nigel Farage. Lol

New Labour created circa 3000 new criminal offences in their first decade in power.
Add the introduction of ASBO’s, summary justice, increased stop and search, misuse of anti terror laws and 10-14 yr olds being criminally responsible for their actions.
Tory’ s took the baton and ran with it, so not that surprising crime figures have increased.

They converted an old building into a gated community with swimming pool and gym and knocked down a huge council estate opposite where the heroin users who shot up on the streets came from and moved them on. Used to see regular fighting out my window.

Was not a pleasant place but it was 40 quid a week to rent a room as a student and easy to get anywhere. Don't think the place we rented was legal either, was an old office above a shop so instead of a bathroom we had 2 cubicles, 3 urinals, and 3 sinks. That was an awesome feature for parties though.

The UK isn't capable or even able to fix any of its current problems so i wouldn't hold your breath that anything will change, the country is broke, both financially and mentally.

Do you have any advice from America on how you deal with violence from certain religious groups?

We may have had more recent examples of christian violence over here with the stabbings this week but I know in America there is a huge problem with christian gun violence, with the vast majority of murders being carried out by christians. Do we outlaw christianity? Did you outlaw guns? We can't just ban stabbing. People should have rights. What do you suggest?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Banning Christianity would be a great start. I pray that happens

Hopefully you meant the pun

What I would have given for three urinals.
My place was party central when I was in my 20's.

Shall I start a parody twitter account called #StartTheBoats where I post satire stuff about it why we need more migrants? Like a photo of a massive empty area of countryside with "Britain's Empty!" And 'Start the boats!"

But just subtle enough so right wingers believe that it's a serious page?

Will also be easy to use convenient stats. Like 95% of murders in the UK are committed by people born in the UK? #StartTheBoats Stuff like that?

I'm looking forward to heaven where that will be a reality!

Of course they have no problem with kosher meals in schools.

I never said I wouldn't have toilets too,Obviously you haven't had lots of women in your place at one time. They're worse than guys when they get to hovering.
