I have an idea for a separate article regarding Elon Musk and Twitter.

Those who had been calling for free speech on Twitter without any consequences at all, how would they feel if some rich middle eastern Muslim bought twitter and started promoting radical islam and lots of people got radicalised, carrying out terror attacks on the UK, based on lies?

Would the same people who believe that you should be able to say anything you want (inciting violence through lies etc whilst in a powerful position) be happy with this? Or believe something should be done?

It's exactly the same thing, just the consequences would affect them and not just brown people.

They are completely against any sort of government intervention on social media at the moment so they can run riot themselves, but I bet you if there was a middle eastern terrorist threat they would be quick to want the government/police to intervene.

So to summarise, people who were already racist just needed an excuse to express their racism publicly. Now they believe that they do have this excuse.

They believe that the deaths of some children now make their racism publicly acceptable. Even if it was based on false information. They are standing by it.

Yep, that’s pretty much it.

Apparently for every 5 crimes committed in the UK in 1995 there's only 1 crime now. Kind of destroys the narrative of our streets becoming more unsafe and society corroding.

There was no social media in 1995

Get you're facts straight before calling them far right thugs. There simply peacefully protesting against the illegal migrant that came over the channel last year and lied about being 17 so he couldn't be identified. Then went to Stockport and stabbed kids.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Unusual to see recently murdered young children referenced in a piece of satire.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't be the worst kind of person.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah put it back on me.

Of course. This kind of crap should always be called out. Like if I mock Jimmy Savile for being a paedo and you accuse me of making jokes about child abuse.

Mocking the far right for being monngos is not being insensitive towards the victims they are using to their advantage.

You're the problem here.

When making jokes about how shti you think a country is that you perceive as a rival, don't mention young children who have just been murdered. It's not difficult.

It was just a very bad misjudgement, unlike trying to spin your way out of it by reference to Jimmy Saville which was calculated skummery.

You're just the worst

They are literally using the death of some children to their advantage to spread their hatred of something completely unrelated.

I am calling them out on it.

Just because you don't understand, doesn't mean you should get angry.

Yes of course I do understand that point, and agree with you on that point.
Let's just forget it. No prizes/points to be won on this very sad subject.
I'm sure all of us (perhaps except for the rioters) have respectful thoughts for the victims of the appalling murders , and for their loved ones and the horrendous pain they're going through at the moment .

Also that most (or hopefully all) of us also condemn the appalling behaviour of the rioters and racists.

For the Billy’s of this world

The Nasir Mosque in Hartlepool that was attacked yesterday:

- last year gave >£25,000 to the Royal British Legion through sale of poppies

- cooked >25,000 meals for people in Hartlepool who were hungry

- celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee with a Garden Party
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But but but... They are not integrating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It is great that the mosque has done these things and I am sure that there are many many others across the country that have done similar good deeds.

At the same time, there is an element that don't want to integrate. I live near to Bradford and there has always been areas that have been a little unwelcoming. I think that this has spread/increased in the last few weeks, probably due to recent/ongoing events.

I have got 2 different groups of mates that have gone to a curry house and been told that they aren't welcome. The first group got grabbed by a bloke as they made they way upstairs and told it was Asians only. They said fair enough and left without any incident.

The second group got served their food, although the service was really really slow. After the meal, one of the lads was left in the car park about to drive off and the rest of the group were all in another car and had already left. A mini bus of Asian lads pulled into the car park, surrounded the lad on his own, started giving him a load of sh!t and told him no whites and to never come back. He feels like the service was deliberately slow to allow these lads to get together and get to the restaurant. Bad do when you can't even go for a meal safely.

I have myself been out to look at a potential job in Bradford this morning (Allerton area) and been scowled at by two groups of Asian blokes. Nothing was said, but they were intentionally trying to make me feel uneasy. As a result, we've decided not to bother pricing any more works in the Bradford area at the moment. Can't be sending our teams to work in areas where they might be at risk.

Absolutely mental that we are having to take these decisions. But it is the few bad eggs (on both sides) that are ruining it for everyone. Hopefully the government can deal with this unrest swiftly with some strong policing/sentencing. Then, maybe we can have a sensible debate on the issues that have caused this unrest.
