I thought the hold up was we were waiting to sell first. Otherwise we could’ve done this weeks ago and had them training with the team already?
De Ligt is nowhere near good enough. Imagine Harry Maguire but worse. Oh and he thinks he's Maldini too.
Mazraoui terrible at defending and okish going forward.
Surprise surprise both of these two have played for ETH before. But apparently he doesn't favour his shyite ex-players from the Dutch League.
Ten Hag out.
Also baffles me that according to the top journalists these talks have been ‘ongoing’ for fckin weeks now, so how when we finally make an actual bid is it too low for them to accept? What were they talking about up to this point, just general chat about the weather etc?
Always a bit sceptical buying from Bayern. Other than Toni Kroos, I can’t remember many players leaving them and being a genuine success.

That's true but I'm just wondering if prior to the Yoro picking up an injury management were a little relaxed, perhaps, about the whole thing. Injury has possibly forced, somewhat "panicked" them into this. Either way, I agree it's not great as we are recruiting two players who will be behind pre season prep from the rest of the squad.

Fitness wise I think De Ligt was returning to Bayern around about now to beign training, so he's at the same stage as Zirkzee etc for us who got to that stage in the Euros. Not sure about Mazza (never going to bother learning how to spell his name).

I think I'm going to be the same, Mazza it is unless he becomes phenomenally good then I'll learn to spell his middle name too ! 😁
If we buy De Ligt now rather than a month ago then we'll have saved some money in wages I suppose. He wouldn't have been playing anyway would he so no real loss. He shouldn't have much problems settling in.
With Dani Olmo going to Barca I'd expect his mate De Jong to sign soon as well...

Are you expecting the arrival of (ahem) De Jong at Utd, DC? May have misread that!
Can understand the thought process in delaying the signings, give ETH as little time as possible to injure them before the season starts.
I'm happy about the "changes" at united but as someone who is uninitiated in the goings on behind the scenes, on the face of it, it does look like Eth is still fully in charge of all transfer based on who we're going for
I assume whoever is finding these players has to also factor in that our current manager has experience with them in the past, which may be helpful, somewhat....
Could be an absolute facking shambles too though.

Yep, I think De Ligt is one of those safe option trasnsfers, he's very experienced for his young age and I think could slot in and be quite good straight away. With Yoro also being signed I can see the benefit of De Ligt at the right price, and also obviously knowing Ten Hags demands/preferences.
Mazza I'm not sure on, think he's going to be worse than AWB at 1v1 defending that's fair to say, but could offer us more in the build up and raising the potential level of the team as a whole unit. His injury record isn't great, but as a full back option that can cover both sides, along with Dalot, Shaw and seemingly Amass it's a good set of players that aren't 'too' different in styles so that when one is replacing another we don't suddenly have to play a different way.
Sounds like AWB has only just agreed terms with West Ham about a move so now we maybe feel confident we can move on with Mazraoui?
Maybe the injury to Yoro has forced us into rushing with de Ligt.
I think they are both very good players and upgrades on what we have but I am a little concerned about their injury records. De Ligt by all accounts was Bayern's best CB last season and fans protested about selling him but they need the money. Mazraoui is a player they just don't really need as seeing as they got him for free it's a tidy bit of business for them.
I think the Bayern of old would have been far more savy with selling on players they no longer need but they're nowhere near as well run now as they used to be. Seems like these sales are about raising funds.
I always wonder what 'ongoing talks' involve? The buying and selling clubs have their fees in mind and then it's surely just about making an agreement, can't see why that takes weeks of discussions.

TBH neither are an upgrade on what United currently have both will be squad players so hope the fee's are too high.
If United can get Ugarte over the line as well they've done very well this window but its a shame about the injuries.
How is De Ligt not an upgrade on Lindelof/Evans who played a lot of games for us last season.
There is a lot of hope being pinned on Ugarte who flopped terribly in Ligue 1.
