Thanks for the thread Earl. Felt like we won iost won drawn lost won lost and then drew crazy but I suppose we should give Pompey some credit considering they were not at full strength.
The old cliche we'll play a lot worse than that and win comfortably. Rustiness of course so let's hope this was a blip and I was pleased for Aeronson for the equaliser but omg what a chance he missed but I think overall it will still give him a boost to get a the goal and look like he can be a real asset this season....We go again and next time please can we just have a straight forward 2 nil win with no drama??? MOT

A bit harsh based on 15 mins when we hardly had the ball.

Well played Portsmouth- they came to try and win and it showed. Not much quality but big hearts.

First 20 minutes, we have improved enough for automatics.
Rest of the game could have been a replay of many of last seasons efforts.
Carry on like this and Farke will be gone.
Need a few more in for sure, a clinical striker wouldn't go amiss.

Seems nothings changed from last season, defence just leaks goals and our crossing is atrocious can't beat the first man........so much for an easy 5-0 romp

I’d forgotten how bad the refereeing was in the Championship. It’s fu€king brutal.

I Know farkey it's a big ask but joking aside we did play some cracking football and I reckon Pompey are no pushovers and will cause a lot of teams problems but yes we definitely need to be far more clinical.

Gnonto got better as the game went on but was still wasteful and Joseph snatched at a couple which is a pity because we need him to open his account ASAP to give him confidence but I still think we'll be top 2 because it will click and with the ability we have in the side we will soon see us give a lot of sides a thumping
and I already think Aeronson will get double figures in goals at least.

It’s not the goalscoring that worries me, Macca. They had 4 shots on goal and scored from 3. They were clinical, and we were Leeds in defence. What happened to that run when we went 7 or 8 games without conceding a goal? We still have the same players. We just can’t defend anymore.

I think Farkey the defence is still a work in progress but for the Championship with Bogle and possibly Wober instead of Firpo we should be more than alright wiith Rodon and Struiyk as our main CBs who I think will strike up a solid partnership again but did look a bit rusty to me.

As much as Firpo is a threat going forward I would
just prefer Wober at left back if he stays or this defender
from Wolves we are supposed to be after not that Firpo was the reason we conceded 3 goals but I think we do
seem to concede more with him in the side.
