1 win in the last 9 league games
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow! Really? I guess you wouldn’t post that without it being true … completely passed me by tbh but a truly awful stat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
3.3 Portsmouth
1.2 Southampton
0.4 QPR
4.3 Middlesbrough
0.1 Blackburn
0.0 Sunderland
1.2 Coventry
2.2 Hull
2.2 Watford
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and your point is?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty obvious. A lack of confidence and nervousness from last season has carried forward and also teams have sussed us out.
Absolutely should have been a comfortable win. Terrible errors and lack of game management cost us massive. To concede 3 goals against them is a joke. Should have score 6 or 7 but that’s not the problem. Conceding 3 not good enough.
Ref was awful but not the reason we lost. Refs do need to start booking players for constantly pulling us down every time we are free though.
Sort out the stupidity and we should be fine but that was definitely 2 points dropped given how good we showed we can play. And how much better than them we can be.

I think Farkey the defence is still a work in progress but for the Championship with Bogle and possibly Wober instead of Firpo we should be more than alright wiith Rodon and Struiyk as our main CBs who I think will strike up a solid partnership again but did look a bit rusty to me.
As much as Firpo is a threat going forward I would
just prefer Wober at left back if he stays or this defender
from Wolves we are supposed to be after not that Firpo was the reason we conceded 3 goals but I think we do
seem to concede more with him in the side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Macca to put a fine point on it, much as I respect you, this is patent nonsense, two of the three goals came down the other side today, the first goal the scorer was played on side by Bogle and was in acres of space, the second goal, clear penalty by the way, hauled down by Bogle. Firpo cannot be held responsible by association. His stats for last season bear up well. You may as well hold Ampadu or Rodon responsible. I would certainly argue as a defender, at the tail end of last season he made few errors than Ampadu and was more of an asset to the team attacking wise with his assists.
Yes Dennis I'm not blaming Firpo for the goals we conceded today and Bogle certainly didn't have a great debut but I just feel longterm with Firpo that his impressive forward play is not enough for him to warrant a first team spot at left back and would prefer a player
with greater defensive attributes and this can then help
the defence be tighter too but if Bogle doesn't improve
and Meslier keeps letting in soft goals we are in big
trouble either way.
Not sure it was a clear penalty because they both had hold of each other. Bogle naïve at worst.
First goal was just a mess and second a weak Rodon header.
One thing that puzzles me though - why are Portsmouth above us in the table? Am I missing something?
Not that it matters really but it just seems strange.

Their player held Bogles shirt and made the most of it. Ref initially gave nothing then decided to give it.
To be fair I would have been shouting “penalty” at the other end and fair play to Portsmouth for still trying to win the game on 92 mins. Many teams would have shut up shop at that point.
Stoopo I may be wrong but aren't Portsmouth known as AFC Portsmouth? So this may explain why curiously they sit above us in the league table...either that or the EFL just enjoy winding Leeds fans up.
Anyway that last gasp point has kept us level with Shef Utd who after beating Preston 2 nil also have just one point????
I don't know about others on here but I had forgotten Shef Utd started the season on minus 2 points so at least we haven't lost ground on one of our main rivals for promotion even after just one game. Every cloud!!!

That must explain it. Maybe they should call them AFC in the table?
i really have no idea what most are moaning about. 1st game of the season, every team is rusty. we played them off the park, they got lucky but that is foota, 1st goal yes boggle was ball watching got caught out. 2nd got lucky with the bounce, was a speculative screamer. 3rd was subjective but well taken.
we hit the bar 3 times in 6 mins, struijk pen was a thing of beauty. nobody thought he had that in him.... 'lil willys was class, aaronson shows he will be quality in the division

Actually they are called Portsmouth FC so in theory they should be below us in that table - unless they are counting away goals now 🤔
More interested than bothered.

Every day is a school day.
The EFL website. Final positions determined as follows -
If two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points their position in the Division shall be determined on goal difference
If any two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points and have the same goal difference the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club having scored the most goals in League Matches in that Season.
If two or more Clubs have the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored the highest placed Club shall be determined by the respective League records against each other, taking into account in order of precedence, points gained, goal difference and goals scored.
If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs then the highest placed Club shall be determined by reference to the following criteria, in the order prescribed:
1 number of wins;
2 goals scored in away games; or
3 in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 9.4.
Regulation 9.4 Where two or more Clubs are tied after the procedures set out in Regulations 9.1 to 9.3 inclusive then the highest placed Club shall be the Club which has accumulated the lowest total number of penalty points (as determined in accordance with Regulations 9.5 and 9.6) following the completion of 42 League Matches in the relevant Season.
So there you have it. Portsmouth are above us on away goals.
Well you live and learn Stoopo. I had no idea about those
rules you have relayed but knowing our luck by the time the season ends Leeds being denied an automatic promotion place on away goals would not surprise me.
