I have no issue with our signings.

Mains is a third choice keeper who helps with homegrown numbers

Bogle was a signing we were screaming out for un terms of us having a proper right back

Rothwell appears to offer a more attacking midfielder compared to kamara who just was not the sort of player who had anything going forward about him.

In general I don't think we have actually made any proper duff signings under Farke, maybe Darlow, but that's kind of it.

But our squad is now paper thin.

We only have two wingers and our options in midfield have now been massively impacted by the sales of rutter and summerville.

I think we still need to sign a minimum of four players as I just don't think we have either scoring options or the depth needed to get us up.

Why do you have to be a season ticket holder to be fuming, I am fuming, am not and will never be a season ticket holder.

But I am emotionally invested as we all are in this club which the 49ers and all these johnny come lately's aren't.
Selling Gray I could cope with on the premise that we covered the position he played at with Bogle, good enough now and at least it kept us out of trouble PSR wise. It might be short-termism but there's another Gray coming through and he's supposed to be even better, isn't he?.
Cree, I could cope with, he was the best player at the club but last year we only had one tactic, pass it to him he would work his magic and score, selling him would mean we would use the other quality players at the club more, we would be forced to play more expansive football, look for more solutions wouldn't we? It would actually help us, wouldn't it?
But today I'm down, I cannot justify this, nothing can.
Selling Georgi, rips the soul out of the football team, the very identity of the current team.
If Gnonto goes as well I dread to think what the team will look like.
Yesterday's performance is a reflection of how the team were feeling following the news, gutted. I am sure Bamford and Ayling were discussing it at one point.

Not a cat in hell's chance this mess gets turned around and we challenge for promotion, there aren't in the squad any more, there aren't the available players out there needed to strengthen our depleted numbers in the positions we need them, if there were the players, there isn't the time to do the business and contrary to what Jonty seems to believe I don't think we have the cash in the bank to just throw money at the problem.

At last a balanced post. 👍

I’d just add that it was probably Rutter’s agent who informed Brighton of the clause in his contract and that wouldn’t have been done without Rutter’s agreement.

There are lots of people to blame but the one thing they cannot blame is the fans. We have supported this team through thick and thin.

Good luck to the lad. I hope his second attempt ar cracking the PL is more successful than his first season with us. I think he’s a better player now but still has a lot to learn.

Pompey's result said we're restarting where we left off last season but now minus our best players. But our highest wage earner is still there! All hope of promotion ha dissipated in just two games. get used to it guys - asset strippers control the club.

and that wouldn’t have been done without Rutter’s agreement.

That's making a big assumption on Rutter's behalf.

Agents will agent. Always have. Always will. They are
focused on getting the best deals for their clients.
Would not be surprised if this was all the agent's work
in an effort to get the move/deal for Georgie.

Could it be just how you said, sure. For me, I don't
believe that kid would be motivated in that way. Not
every player is motivated by money first. It's a factor
of being a pro. But, not necessarily the main driver.

Agents have a bad influence on potential players unfortunately, Rutter is a vulnerable kid, only 21-22. Money makes the world spin and Leeds have to put up with the consequences season after season. It's a vicious circle.

I read earlier today that we/the club have raised
235 million over the last 2 years.

How the hell are the club going to get 'good deals'
on new players (that we desperately need) when
everyone and their dog knows we just made
235 million quid over the last 2 seasons?

Plus clubs will also know that because we’ve left it so late in the window, we’ll be so desperate to sign that they can demand well over the odds. We never ever learn do we.

They better get a hold of Cooper before Pompey snap him up…all hands on deck!

I hate these owners, even if they bring in some players its too late.
At this rate of outgoings I figure we need about 9 signings.

Hang in there batty. When the window closes and the dust settles we'll have a team we can all cheer on to mid table success.

Give the 49ers another week and it'll be 16.

Three or four signings will absolutely not cut it. We are way down on numbers and now the quality that made us stand out. I'd make signing a new keeper one of the highest priorities now to add to that list. Stat for you. 56% of the goals scored by us under Farke have been scored or created by players that have left the club.

You often hear the phrase 'we' got good money for him. Good for for who though? Sports group Investors or the fans?

There's nothing wrong with Piroe. I'd say a bigger problem is the deadwood we have which no other club will go near.

posted on 16/8/24

Piroe looked pretty decent as a stiker in the play offs v Norwich. Was awful in the final though. For me hes simply not a number 10. A number 10 needs to be involved in the game setting up and creating chances like Pablo used to do. He might play as a second stiker if we played 2 up top but hes not a traditional number 10 i dont care what anyone says.
