I think there’s a possibility that we have two potential deals ready with PSG - straight up purchase, and loan with obligation to buy (probably more costly) - and are waiting to see if the McT deal is signed off to decide on which we can/should proceed with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, could be.

It'd also be great, IMO, if there was another player coming in this week that hasn't been mentioned.

Latest on Hannibal from Romano:

Burnley have reached verbal agreement to sign Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United.

Medical tests taking place today as club to club deal done on loan with mandatory buy clause.

Almost there.

posted on 26/8/24

Hannibal Mejbri’s loan with obligation move to Burnley will help United’s PSR calculations.

His book value after five years at the club is now the same as an academy player, so the money incoming can be banked as pure profit. #MUFC [@lauriewhitwell]

Berbaking, I heard that we're discussing Kvatskhelia as part of the McTominay deal...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutely nothing on Kvatskhelia from any of leading transfer ITKs. Where are you getting this rumour from, RR?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think its a Kvats for Rash deal. seems balanced if you ask me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d swap any of our attackers for Kvats, he’s sensational.

Ugarte is a red!!

I find it strange we're paying more for Ugarte than PSG paid Sporting, when it's been made clear they don't want him.

Great to see we've finally got a midfielder in. I'll reserve judgement until I see him in a red shirt but I'm not particularly excited about it.

PSG paid Sporting €60m cash. Then they had to make a solidarity payment on top, plus pay intermediary fees.

Romano is reporting that we’re paying PSG €50m plus a potential €10m in add-ons.

We're not. PSG paid his €60 million release clause last summer and we're paying €50 million plus add-ons.

Not overly excited about this either but we'll see.

Ah okay, Talksport said we’d paid more. It’s a similar amount either way.

They’ll have done that on purpose in an attempt to rile people up.

There's lots of Manchester United audio content out there, Busby, that's both listenable and fact-based. E.g. the 'Talk of the Devils' podcast is good.

Skysports are no better

They had the price at £50.7m plus add ons in their yellow ticker
Then directly above it in black saying £60m plus add ons

Chelsea have supposedly bid for Ivan Toney. Surely that would mean having to ship yet another squad member. (And must also hinge on Napoli getting the Lukaku purchase over the line.)

By the way, these Twitter threads are quite a nice introduction to Ugarte:

A recent one profiling his qualities in possession: https://x.com/TheDevilsDNA/status/1828123474562330783
tl;dr
Pretty good ball carrier / press resistance, and superior to Casemiro in that respect; tends to keep it simple with his passing, but will also play long switch passes).

Broad summary of Ugarte: https://x.com/TheDevilsDNA/status/1814294424412672301
tl;dr
More of a DM like Casemiro, who will cover space and close it down when necessary than a high pressing player like Fred; complementary profile to Mainoo; compared to Casemiro he'll offer better mobility on the defensive side, better ball carrying, but not as good at line breaking passes.
