That's my point Batty, the evidence doesn't stack up with the PR. Club have been reactive rather than proactive due to the Seagulls stumping up Rutter's release clause.

the figures for xfers beggers belief, however if said player performs as expected then the fee is irrelevant

Brighton really are a top club. Unbelievably well
run and owned. Just signed Ferdi Kadiogl, Turkish International who had a great Euros. Spent close
to 200 mill this summer. And they'll probably double
that in a few seasons on developed player sales.

18 mill. He plays the 10, a position we need.

Could be the difference for us.

But we waited for the clause to expire and then
low balled at 13 mill. Sheff U were never going
to accept that offer. So why do it in the first
place? We supposedly have a 'war chest' use it.
And weaken a rival, smash the league.

Because the club think he’s only worth £13m, and look to have moved onto other targets.

Thats how it should be. Just because we’ve plenty of money, doesnt mean we should pay more than we want.

If Hamer is that good and is worth £18m then I’m sure he will move on Friday. Chicken feed to most PL clubs.

It will weaken Sheff U as well.

Yes and we should still do that, that doesnt mean you over pay.

I personally would pay more, think he’s a cracking player but certainly not going to complain about the club, sticking to a valuation 👍

The Japanese lad transfer doesn’t look all that. He pulled out of a game because of injury but his club are saying he’s ok now and keen to get rid.

Injury prone by the sounds of it. Wouldn’t take him.

Problem is if you don’t up the Hamer value then you could potentially lose out on both.

Leaving it this late to conclude 3-4 deals is running the risk of missing out. Can see why we've left it last minute though, its an international break after the Hull game so DF has 2 weeks to work with all the new signings, plus a lot saved on wages.

Can't argue with that as I agree with you.

I was just saying last week re: Jack Clarke, that no Championship club has any business buying £15m players...but that was last week 😂 is Hamer worth spending £18m? I'm asking because I really know feckall about him.

Get someone on it A14! Wages are probably sky high, but if we did go up he would be the class of keeper we should be looking at.

Travers would be a good keeper signing too imo. 25 Irish number 1. Bournemouth now have 3 keepers with Kepa joining so he won't be happy being third choice
