Good luck to McT. But it was time. Rio having a bit of mare comparing him to Fletch, Wes Brown, Ole.. they were better players.
Now arguments can be made he was better than O’Shea. Fact is, O’Shea wouldn’t shine if he was playing in this team. It’s not McTs fault, playing in a better team, maybe he shines also.
Now the focus I would think turns to Rashford…

It was more to Rio’s point that UTD always need ‘that utility player’… I mean, the thing that throws you a bit off, was his instinct for goal.
But he brought nothing else to the team, and it’s best for him to go,
Maybe with the slower pace, McT might thrive, but I dunno, it’s aboot Tekkers out there.
I kinda fear for Scotty in that regard.

Sterling? No, just no, wasn’t too chuffed about Owen tbh, and giving him number 7?, I suppose the late winner in (legitimate) added on time and league cup final goal makes the pill a bit easier to swallow

Fair play to him having the ambition and balls to play abroad. Someone pointed out recently that a lot of our ex players have done ok in Italy in recent years so you never know.

Michael Owen just never looked right in a Utd shirt. He never felt like one of us.

Sterling is the same. You can't play for City and the vermin and be welcomed in by our fanbase. It's doomed to failure before we even know it's even happening.

Bizarrely it's been the former Leeds players that have been welcomed in the most despite the very hostile feelings between the two sets of fans. Cantona and Rio obvious ones but even Alan Smith was a fan favourite at Utd for the time he was here.

Look I know it’s one instance, and that I didn’t see much of Sterling… but man can switch off.
And last season, I remember when he was trying to go down the left flank. He gets easily tackled, but doesn’t chase after the guy who tackled him.
Cucarella managed to make a tackle for a throw in.

So Cucarella goes back into position. The guy is wondering who to throw to, then you notice Sterling come into picture, but is giving directions to other players, and doesn’t notice the throw… Cucarella is in a 2 on 1 situ, they easily get past him, cross the ball into the box, goal.

I remember rewinding back, and going all GNev aboot, watch what Sterling doesn’t do. It was pathetic.
We already got enough of those, we don’t need another…

Just the type of player we need to see the back of. Not a terrible player, but the wrong profile. Very jarring going from Bruno to McSauce.

More than twenty years at the club, dyed-in-the-wool red, consummate pro, universally popular in the dressing room apparently, and always ready when called on. Never put a foot out of line, never complained when he wasn’t getting picked.

Will never forget his celebration after his goal against City under Ole, the FA Cup goals last season, and Jose naming him his player of the season

Hope he smashes it in Italy and manages to add to his medal collection.
