Alisson? Still the best around, has 2 years + 1 option left. I agree with the OP dont think hes the most professional when it comes to looking after himself. Not sure if hes that keen to play into his 40s either. He is happy here though with his family. Be 35 when his contracts up which to me means we’ve timed it rather well and will have done well to have had him until then. Best keeper ive personally ever seen in my 25 years of watching the sport.

Yeh, is he off? heard he was but nothing for a while on that front, if he does go who would be your back up as isn't the new keeper going back on loan?
Just spoke to Spanish football expert in my work (he lived there for 18 months ) about this and he did say the new signing is a top keeper, if Alisson does see out his last 2 yrs the new guy will 1yr under him to learn so aye that might be right

I didn't say he said it on Sky. I said the things he says on Sky, ie examples of things he says due to his role. He'd say anything to generate publicity, views, likes etc. That's his job, he works in the media.
Edwards released a huge statement after he left as he didn't want unfounded speculation and yet people blasted out conspiracy theories anyhow. He said always planned to stay in the role for a maximum of ten years and had already been prepping his successor.

What's silly is running with conspiracy theories despite it being out in the public domain from the man himself on why he left. So yes, there are quotes but you prefer the Twatter conspiracy theories as usual, probably as it gives you some path to confirmation bias to prove a negative on the running of the club.
The evidence suggests the club gives contracts to over 30s if they're good enough and want to stay, Henderson, Milner, VVD, Salah and Wijnaldum(he turned his contract down). Yet you run with a conspiracy that they don't and due to the fact that they did(huh?) Edwards left, despite him giving his reasons in a massive statement to the fans to avoid this type of speculation.
So what did they do to get him back, get around the table and say OK if you come back we'll not offer over 30s new contracts?
And then came back… then we look at all the contracts offered to over 30 players during FSG’s tenure… occams razor and all that.
It’s up to you TOOR, if you think FSG like to offer over 30 year old players contracts that’s your choice. There’s little to nothing to support that though.

Ali is still comfortably the best keeper in the world. He has also improved his passing under Slot.
Hope this is not the case but it does seem that no what kind of legend you are and even if you are best in the world in that position (ala Salah and VVD) that after 30 we won't be dishing out contracts. Especially with them being high earners.
Back to Mama. Top signing. He is a bit like DDG from what I have seen. He will make the impossible save but does need to improve with the ball at his feet which at 23 is still very possible.

Van Dijk got a four year contract at 30.
Milner got a two year contract at 33.
Henderson got a four year contract at 31.
It seems to me if you're still good enough and want to stay you get a new contract.

Common knowledge that he didn’t want to offer Hendo a contract of that value and length, it’s certainly never been refuted despite being mentioned plenty. Edwards also left not long after and then came back at the first opportunity.

I didn't say he said it on Sky. I said the things he says on Sky, ie examples of things he says due to his role. He'd say anything to generate publicity, views, likes etc. That's his job, he works in the media.
Edwards released a huge statement after he left as he didn't want unfounded speculation and yet people blasted out conspiracy theories anyhow. He said always planned to stay in the role for a maximum of ten years and had already been prepping his successor.

What's silly is running with conspiracy theories despite it being out in the public domain from the man himself on why he left. So yes, there are quotes but you prefer the Twatter conspiracy theories as usual, probably as it gives you some path to confirmation bias to prove a negative on the running of the club.
The evidence suggests the club gives contracts to over 30s if they're good enough and want to stay, Henderson, Milner, VVD, Salah and Wijnaldum(he turned his contract down). Yet you run with a conspiracy that they don't and due to the fact that they did(huh?) Edwards left, despite him giving his reasons in a massive statement to the fans to avoid this type of speculation.
So what did they do to get him back, get around the table and say OK if you come back we'll not offer over 30s new contracts?

And then came back… then we look at all the contracts offered to over 30 players during FSG’s tenure… occams razor and all that.
It’s up to you TOOR, if you think FSG like to offer over 30 year old players contracts that’s your choice. There’s little to nothing to support that though.
