Onana
Mazraoui De Lijt Martinez Mallacia
Ugarte Casemiro Mount
Antony Zirkzee Hojlund

A team of ETH signings worth more than 500mil. This team will struggle to stay in premiere league. He is a total disaster and should have been sacked a couple of months ago. It will be hard to get rid of most of these players after he is gone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nonsense. Apart from Casemiro age, and Antony rubbish they would all be snapped up at the right price.
And you don't know which are ETH signings, apart from making it up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where does this not ETH signings myth come from he is the manager and half of them previously played for him just Antony and Onana is enough to understand he hasn’t got a clue, never has a manager been cut as much slack as this guy, we are awful and this players were not putting a shift in for him today
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry but I disagree with virtually every word.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok 8th in the prem worst ever , biggest ever away defeat since Newton Heath. 7-0 at the dippers, most home defeats in our prem history, this list goes on it is then.
Just a good job you’ve actually seen some good managers and teams in your life to help you cope with what your trying to reconcile at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You forgot to mention the record injury list.
And the fa cup
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just as well a Coventry toe was offside and every team has injuries but they don’t all sign awful players but of course he only a manager on 9 million a year and shouldn’t be expected to be a good judge of players to sign that wouldn’t be fair would it or expect him to be able to coach them that’s not fair either.

At least he is really good with the media but then mm
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You also forget to mention the league cup the year before and the cup final.m
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbf it should really have been Coventry in that final, not us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really! The goal was offside was it not?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Highly debatable. But on the impetuous they had was harsh on them losing to a very marginal decision and pens. That said, they did only turn up from about the 70th min

Let's be honest, who facking cares about the carabao and fa cup when we are facking one of the most depressing teams to watch in the entire English league system?
Id much rather us have some facking identity, some style of play, something entertaining than win a sh!tty cup nobody cares about once every few years.

After all, the excitement of winning a cup disappears after a day, or less, whereas having a season or multiple seasons of entertaining facking football is much better in my book.

my dad is from Plymouth, and we often watch them live around the country and fking hell even they're enjoyable to watch.

After hearing what Keane said about Utd shouldn’t be happy to be a cup side, he’s totally right I’d much rather we turned up every wk and compete than just occasionally in a cup game!

Yes his toenail was offside. But Cov were fantastic that day and made every smug United player realise how lucky they were to get to that final after almost throwing it all away in the last few minutes and extra time. And every one of us supporters at Wembley that day stood rigid and realised how close and lucky we were to being KO'd. And the final insult with Antony goading the Cov players in their faces after the missed their final penalty. Classless. Totally classless.

Also because sacking a manager after 3 games is stupid and undoes any good work the manager and club will have done over preseason.

Is he the answer, who knows but at least back a manger for a few months before deciding to sack him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But it's not after 3 games. He's been there for quite a while now.

He's not being sacked. That window has been and gone now. We will have to endure this torture for a few more months at least as yet.

Anyone with the slightest grasp of football knows he should have gone in the summer. These problems didn't all go away because we managed to turn up in a cup final against City. We still look uncoached. We still can't defend, maintain possession or score goals.

Counting time is a problem.

People seem to think this is a new situation. At the core, at the heart of the team, the same problems are still there.

I really don't get why we went through the process of speaking to different managers in the summer. It doesn't give ETH any backing by saying, we looked around, but I guess we are happy with you. It's actually pretty insulting to treat ETH like that, and I say that as someone who felt ETH should have gone then.
The squad has improved, but it is still miles away from challenging the top 3. 4th may be a possibility, but we need a big turnaround from what's been happening, and I can't see that turnaround happening under ETH.
We need a totally new fresh approach - to steal a quote from another sport, the shirt looks heavy on our players, and we need a manager who can instil some enjoyment back in the squad and a more attractive style of play, and make it feel a little lighter.

We really are so poor to watch, which shouldn't be the case with the players we have

Put your dislike for me to one side you moron!

You admitted he was offside, we were lucky but we capitalised on the narrow margin did we not, the better side doesn’t always win!

Because Jim bottled it and gave in to fan pressure. The plan was to sack him and I think that's fairly evident given they started talking to other managers. Had City beaten us as everyone expected he would have gone as well.

How anyone can still defend this clown is beyond me. We can't defend, keep the ball or score goals. What is there to like about us? We are absolutely woeful.

We've spent £600m and we aren't really any better off for it. The team Ole had was at least as good as this one. 2nd and 3rd place in the PL is no joke afterall.

It's another long painful season incoming lads. We might beat Southampton after the break but can you see us beating Palace away, Spurs home and Villa away? I can't.

posted on 1/9/24

Last sobering fact before bed.

We've only taken 16pts from our last 15 PL games apparently. That's literally relegation form.

Well done lads 👍

That first goal was reminiscent of the goal Liverpool scored against us in pre season; everyone drawn to the ball before it was clipped over to back post for someone to prod home. Full back nowhere to be seen.

Apart from Salah's goal Casemiro was at his worst for the first two goals playing a significant part; losing possession in a dangerous area...

I struggle to see a way back for ETH tbh.

As I have no control over the decision, I can only remain hopeful that something dramatic will change, while not seeing any evidence that it will.

As long as the xg says we are doing ok, then that's all good in my book. Xg is the most important stat in football after all, even more important than actual goals.

Do you hope you're wrong?

I can't take much more of watching us these days, it's an absolute chore.

I don't think Eth is the man to get this team playing good enough football to compete in the league and CL.
I believe the players can be good enough but to get to the next level we'll need a much better manager.
