They made him captain of Chelsea

No issues IMO. Yea, consistency is a factor but the ban is warranted on a stand alone basis

Yeah it's fair enough, I don't have a problem with it. Hopefully the ban is on the lesser side for our benefit, but can't have any complaints.

Hopefully Biss, Gray etc step up in the meantime.

Disagree. Son forgave him. It was an off the cuff remark. No real malice or harm intended. Didn't even use a racist remark or bomb.

A fine and a re educational programme for an hour or two would be enough punishment. He has apologised twice already.

It’s fine, we’ve got Archie Gray. He’ll be first name on the project youth team sheet by then anyway.

Biss, Gray, Sarr for two positions. We’ll be sweet! Not like we’re in Europe or anything🤣
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not fine! Seems he’s either injured or banned these days, I just want the old Bentancur back!

Spurs should be using the Enzo defence on appeal. That ban is outrageous, particularly given the FA are guilty of institutionalised racism for decades. It’s also no surprise it’s come two days before the North London derby. David Dein clearly still holds some sway in the corridors over there. Hypocritical, gutless priiiccccks.

Calm down Fridge(as always). He will be free for the NLD. He will be given time to respond. Don't you ever gey tired of over reacting like a khunty Karen?

On another note the look how the Giardian reported the racist charge by being a little racist themselves 😂

Bentancur deserves a ban

Sure others have got away with it - I don’t care, he deserves it, we should move on.

On a side note - Ange had a lot to say about Biss doing balloons and faaack all to say about Bentancurs incident - think he should address that

Sorry, was meant to say no disrespect but Son doesn't represented the whole of Asia. Bentencurs comments could have had an impact on millions/billions of people and doesn't set a good example, irrespective of Sons reaction.

No issues with me

Doesn't really matter. He was going to be out injured for 6-12 games soon anyway. It's who we are, mate.

Not sure it's ban worthy but the FA will no doubt throw the PC book at him.

Apparently potential 6-12 game ban according to FA Laws.

What is laughable about situations like this is that this was an interview on Uruguayan TV, presumably in the native language and yet the BBC reports that Anti-discrimination charity Kick it Out says it has received a "significant number" of complaints.

Its like me complaining about a joke Ricky Gervais said, in a gig in another country, which i didn't hear and i wasnt there, and don't speak the language, but read about it on line and am now offended and am penning a letter of complaint to points of view.

Yeah but saying what Bents said, and using the N-word, slightly different ends of a scale of offence.

Tend to agree with this. Any complaints the FA will have received will likely just be a collection of Twitter's ever increasing mob of narcissistic, virtue signallers. I doubt they were actually offended. They just wanted to be the first to call foul play.

Plus, as you say, there's no room for nuance it seems. Why do we hold Bentancur to account for something he says in a different language, cutlure and country to which the F.A are associated? I'm pretty sure this happened on international duty so surely this should be an international ban, not a domestic one.

If we had signed a player from a middle eastern country, say Iran and he does a post match interview on Iranian TV, there's a whole heap of subjects they can cover that would be unthinkable to us regarding human rights abuses, gender disparity, gay rights etc. Are we really saying that we'd punish someone for saying something in his home country that's considered the norm. There's a real grey area not being discussed. As long as he conducts himself well on British soil to the British media, why are we looking for the offence deeply hidden on Uruguayan TV? It's mental.

It’s still racism, there’s no limit on it. Not surprised a Tory cuuuunt like you is excusing racism though.

WTF?! So your defence for him is that he said it in a different country and therefore people have gone out looking for it?

The bloke is employed in the UK, made a racist comment about a player playing in the UK and it breaches breached a clear and defined rule.

Dont get defensive over him, he facked up and should take the punishment and move on.

I personally don't understand any defence for him on this one.
