I already stated above that the date was bullshiite, if you hadn’t noticed I asking about the 20:1 ratio silly!
Like I also said earlier that we can then compare like for like once you provide the year!
Simple really, even for you!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is 3 workers (whose bills have also risen and likely have more outgoings than a pensioner) paying the pension and subsidising their heating sustainable?
Is it right that the taxpayer subsidsises WFP's whilst utility companies declare billions in profit?
You won't answer the above you coward.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again more hypocrisy from TrannyAnnie, crying about not answering questions!
Ok, so we’ll no write your over 20:1 ratio as bullshiite as we can’t compare!
I’ll get to your question shortly, so stop stamping those little feet of yours!

" it will hit millions and potentially kill 1000s."
There's 12m pensioners in the UK 27% of which own a home worth more than 1m. Nearly 1/3rd own assets yet taking away £300 pa will hit millions. The numbers don't add up IMO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get that. But what about the other 9m? How many of them are above the credit payout but have little wealth.
Laboura own research estimate 3-4k pensions would die if the Tories did what Labour have now done.
The simple means testing of the payout throws a lot of people into difficulty while 27% are probably quite OK. It's so broadbrush that those who dont rely know the money don't notice it while those who were Reliant on it suffer. It may save some money but who is it hurting the most?
The Govt have said from the start that the broadest shoulders will carry a greater burden but it hasn't been the case. It's been all businesses hit by big tax hikes, big and small. It's all pensioners above benefit level whether wealthy or on the margins.
I know there's need to raise tax and am fine with the broadest carrying more burden but by saying they will not raise personal tax and corporation tax they have left themselves few pots to get money from and the NI and WFP polices have been pretty indiscriminate and it looks like a massive one grab rather than a considered and fair policy.

You can't keep squeezing tax paying workers. We heard silly soundbites like 'well just give up Netflix' as solutions to in work poverty and increased food bank use by those working. The workforce is decreasing year on year yet the amount of pensioners is increasing. 1/3rd of 35-44 year olds are privately renting and csjt get on the housing ladder, whilst 37% of pensioners own homes worth more thsn £1m and 75% own their own homes instead of renting.
Whenever you hear workers pipe up about the cost of living, or increased impossibility to buy a home, it's met with daft sound bites like 'give up Netflix' and whatnot.
Irony of ironies being a worker privately renting from a pensioner (not unlikely or rare) paying off the pensioners mortgage, or second mortgage, whilst having to cough up for WFP via their taxes. Does that sound right to you?
