Do We See it Getting Better?

Our players are on easy street, particularly the higher earners who are under zero pressure to achieve anything and they know it.

The whole club from the top has a losers mentality and there is no desire or ultimatum to win silverware, if the owners do not care about trophies (see sacking Jose a week before a cup final for all the proof you need) then why should the players.

The whole club is set up to make profits, not to win silverware.

Levy out.

Three players who are under performing us are Son, Maddison and Romero. The leadership group. Must do better.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could indicate there’s an issue.
There will be those stories coming out about training being rubbish soon๐Ÿซ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It could happen but hopefully we have moved on and the rats have left the ship.

From my pov Ange is giving the players the best chance to express themselves and attack teams.

It is what we as fans want to see. We don't like playing low block/parking bus football.

He could reign it in a tad to leave us less open at the back but then you just know he will be criticised for not creating any chances which could very well be the knock on effect.

At least today.Udogie and Porro were not so far forward as in previous matches. But we did look toothless. After Kulu's shot in the first 5 mins I thought we would create more but it just never happened. Credit to Arteta(hate to say it). He followed the playbook of others and gave up possession. More than likely due to Rice and Odegaard not being available. Hate to say it again but they deserved it, and ultimately today boiled down to Romero giving up a free header to Gabriel 5 yards out.

And by the way Ange does need to sort out set piece defending and adjust his system, to create more chances without pushing both full backs too far forward, leaving us exposed at the back.

Actually thought Kulu played alright today and Solanke with his back to goal was decent but facing goal he was found wanting. Defo needs to more games to sharpen up.

Ange has to continue beating the lesser teams starting with Coventry, Brentford and Qarabag for us to stand a chance on equalling 5th from last season.

All is not lost just yet but yeah losing to them sucks.

I don’t want Ange out either but I don’t really rate him. It just doesn’t really matter who manages Spurs
--------------------
I like his outlook on football and his self confidence. I wouldn't want a humble priest managing us. They will get swallowed up and spat out. See Nuno. We need a strong minded manager. We as fans cannot expect any manager to come in, wave a wand and give us overnight success. Although some of you probably expect it.

I prepared to give Ange three seasons. He has a four year contract.

3-5-2 is the obvious way forward with Son and Solanke up front.

Our wingers are just not good enough and you would get the best out Udogie and Porro.

I think with Kulu it’s always the extra touch and the wrong decision ultimately renders him average.

He had a chance in the first 10mins where he could’ve shot but he took another touch, straight into traffic and lost the ball in their area.

And then he’s too slow and predictable playing wide.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He played centrally today and recycled it well. Thought he was strong on the ball at times as well.

Our right wing is a problem. We need a leftie with pace who can cut in. Mbeumo and Tyler Dibbling should be on our radar as they will be entering the final years on their contract.

I just don't think 3 5 2 is the Tottenham Way, whatever that means. I remember Hoddle, Jose and Conte all trying it. Not for me.

Just to get the best out of Udogie and Porro and not be as open.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will it get the best out of Maddison, Son and Solanke? No top top team plays that formation. Their must be a reason. An oppo manager could just double up on both full backs and nullify them?

We will not need any wingers. Where would someone like Moore play assumming he comes good?

Moore could easily play the no 10 position. I just think Son's days as an effective winger are behind him and Kulu is now an 8 or 10.

I'm just not sure if a change of formation to get the best out of Porro and Udogie is the answer.

Think we can all agree creativity remains an issue. Most people on here thought Maddison would be answer. Not quite turning out well is it?

"I ALWAYS win things in my second year" - Ange in his post match interview.

Don't know whether to approve of his confidence or to cringe at something that could easily come back to bite him.

What is so cringe about him stating a fact?

Saying it the way he said it suggests he will keep winning in his 2nd years, including this one, so we shall see.

A lot different managing in the PL than it is in Scotland, Australia or Japan. I hope he realises that.

Didn't you do that when I said I thought we could challenge for the title last season?

Exactly. I'm not really having much faith it's going to work for Ange either. Hard to with the form we've shown so far.

Winnable games in the cup and Europe maybe but in the league Brentford at home and then United and Brighton away. That's going to be tough, especially with our recent struggles against any teams that aren't near the bottom of the table. It's 3 current top half teams.
