Not on the WUM here but Spurs look like a team that are getting progressively worse.
The results are poor and I don't believe many many of the signings you've made this summer would fill rival fans with envy.
Ange is getting a pretty easy ride in the press also.
From the last 32 games in the league his record is W13, D5, L14.
Very much midtable standard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I on the other hand think we've made some pretty good signings for the most part and have some good players in our squad, only Ange isn't getting as much out of them as he should be. Werner is rubbish as we all know and BJ is looking, despite still being young, like an average prospect. Apart from that it's an overall decent squad. Where we are in the league is not a good reflection of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You've a decent side top 6 side who should win far more games than you do. It's the style of play that does you. Even prime Barca didn't go all out attack and understood the need to defend when they had to.
Why Ange thinks he is above all that makes no sense - other than he is an arrogant idiot.

But I agree with you, there is loads of talent but no one is shining

Is it the players or the tactics? We know Romero is in dialogue with Real Madrid. VDV is top drawer. Biss statistically is our most important player. Maddison is proven at this level. Son is on his way down but is still a top player.
We’ve got youngsters that the cream of Europe are after - Bergvall and Moore.
We just do t play to our strengths and never get the same side out 2 games running. We penalise a player with an internal 1 match suspension for doing a balloon but don’t penalise a player for making an allegedly racist remark to a team mate.
We don’t train at defending corners despite having a keeper that can’t cope aerially. We narrow the pitch by inverting the wings, crowding out our own players when the oppo are doing that already.
And now, we’re playing weakened sides in cup games. The self harm the club does is insane
Yes it’s the players. Since Kane left and Son has declined they don’t have any top players. Everyone outside of North London can see it.

I was hoping someone would play the idiot and make this point - thank you Bats, I shall tell you why it’s a schitt viewpoint now:
In the league cup, if you lose the game then you go out of the competition for the year - this means you cannot win it.
The Premier league has 38 games - losing 1 game is often not a problem.
The Europa has 8 league games this season - the analytical nerds have simulated it multiple times and found 3 wins from 8 guarantees progress.
So why rotate in the game you can get knocked out in - why not do it in the Europa at home to a team like say Qarabag - who we just happen to be playing a week Thursday?
When you only have 3 semi realistic shots at a trophy - don’t shaaart yourself early doors and get knocked out by rotating

Of course since then there was the disruption with the injuries and absences after that Chelsea game and we lost that momentum and probably some of that confidence. Some of Ange's naive tactics have also grown more prevalent since.
Nobody can convince me that with this squad we are a bottom half team though, which is what we've been in terms of form for the past 10 or so games.

If results continue to be bad over the next three games then Ange's position will be very much at risk.
However, I have a feeling that results will turn round and that we'll have a good season. This is probably my heart ruling my head, but I am realistic enough to know that results must change immediately in order for my feeling to be right!

They are apparently in constant contact with him and wanted him this summer - as did United allegedly but we have said no so far.
Top player, but he is a CB at the end of the day playing in a system that schitts goals - if we could get a top attacker instead I would be tempted

Lose tomorrow and I think he will be lucky to make it to the next international break - Brentford at home is a horrible game - they will park the bus and play on the counter. United away we have had joy over recent years, but it’s tough and Brighton away we have come unstuck several times. 2 Euro games as well - 1 we should win comfortably with the sort of side he wants to put out tomorrow and 1 where we’re somewhat going into the unknown

No point worrying about it - either he will turn it around quickly or Levy will make the decision for us.
Saw on another site a theory as to why we signed so many youngsters this summer was because Levy was already have doubts about Ange long term and wanted to make signings further managers could use also
Its pretty depressing reading all these messages.
A couple of things people have stated that I find strange:
The perception that the media is giving Ange an easy ride.
Everywhere on social media including this very site from spurs own fans calling for him to be gone, that he's out of his depth etc etc.
Including form from last season into this season:
When has this ever been a thing? Last season is last season. Bottom line is Ange finished 5th in his first season and this season he has managed four matches.
I am as gutted as anyone that we lost to Arsenal but we are in a rebuild and they are challenging for the title.
Its like if we are not instantly winning every game then the manager gets questioned.
Since when has a rebuild phase ever been successful unless you were chelsea or man city back in the day when you could buy all the best players at once?

It goes beyond the results - what about what we’re seeing on the pitch - conceding from corners far too easily still. Having loads of possession but fewer touches than the opposition in the box. 66 shots so far and 6 goals.
Take away the opening 10 games last season and we’re picking up a point a game - it’s just above the relegation zone type form.
Now he is hinting at major rotation tomorrow - after getting dumped out of cups away to Champ clubs so many times before due to major rotation
Can't believe people are still referencing those first 10 games there was a lot of luck involved in that run.
In the 32 games since, you've picked up 44 points or something. Not even trying to be a diiiick, but that is your true level.
Your midfield and attack is bang average. The goalie can't play out from the back and chits himself when defending set pieces. you have decent defenders that are constantly exposed due to a stupid manager who refuses to help them out.
Keeping that ridiculous high line when down to 9 men Vs Chelsea should've set your Spidey senses off. But you'd all convinced yourselves it was brave instead of completely facking insane, which is what it really was.

Seriously? When has it not been a thing? Form is form whether a new season comes in between or not. It's still relevant to how you see a manager doing. When Poch got sacked, it wasn't just because of form based on that current season, it was also because he had 3 wins in 12 at the end of the previous season and losses in all 6 of those away games. Rodgers got sacked at Liverpool not only cause he started the new season poorly but because of form he had at the end of the previous season, including a 6-1 loss to Stoke.
You can't just dismiss bad form on the basis that there is a new season. Bad form will put a manager under pressure whenever it is.

I take a lot of confidence with what I see on the pitch.
We have hammered Everton 4-0, we drew away with a newly promoted side when we could have been three or four nil up had we taken our chances.
We dominated the ball against Newcastle and was very unlucky to lose, an away match to Newcastle is always tough.
Then a narrow defeat to a team challenging the title.
Of course none of us are happy with the results but the performances have been decent. Room for improvement and we know where we need to improve.
In those four games we have conceded 1 goal from a set piece which was Arsenal who are one of the best teams at scoring set pieces.
I love a Spurs meltdown...

I get your point but I don't agree with it.
You could have a good start to the season or a good end to the season but what matters is where you finish in that season.
From the four games I have seen we have been controlling the matches a lot more so we are conceding less chances.
Despite our disappointing results so far we have conceded fours goals, less than Man Utd, Villa and Chelsea and only one more goal than Man City.
Our inability to finish seems to be our biggest problem, I would say our defending has actually improved.

They are apparently in constant contact with him and wanted him this summer - as did United allegedly but we have said no so far.
Top player, but he is a CB at the end of the day playing in a system that schitts goals - if we could get a top attacker instead I would be tempted

would be nice if we just had a slow start and then end up having a good season from october onwards rather than the other way round like last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We all want that
Therefore it won’t happen

If results continue to be bad over the next three games then Ange's position will be very much at risk.
However, I have a feeling that results will turn round and that we'll have a good season. This is probably my heart ruling my head, but I am realistic enough to know that results must change immediately in order for my feeling to be right!

Yes it’s the players. Since Kane left and Son has declined they don’t have any top players. Everyone outside of North London can see it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet Romero will go to Real at the end of the season for circa £80m - must be schitt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure he will.

not sure what circumstances would actually have Ange lose his job before Xmas
really cba to start all over but if we are bottom half and out of the league cup, starting poorly in Europa its hard to argue against it
is he going to make any of our currently players go up that next level. not sure

We already turned down bids this summer
Doesn’t fit Josh’s agenda though so it can’t be true - I mean why wouldn’t a Man United fan who never goes to games know more
