I love a Spurs meltdown...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I expect it from rival fans but I am disappointed that so many of our fans turn on the manager so quickly when things don't go smoothly.

I would get it more if we were playing anti football.

I didn't enjoy the mourinho/nunes/conte period at all. The football we play now for most of the time is good to watch.

So quickly?

We’ve been in bottom half form the whole of 2024 mate and now the manager is talking about rotation in a cup game after the other hugely successful times we have tried this.

Get your head out of the sand

Its pretty depressing reading all these messages.

A couple of things people have stated that I find strange:

Including form from last season into this season:
When has this ever been a thing? Last season is last season. Bottom line is Ange finished 5th in his first season and this season he has managed four matches.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Seriously? When has it not been a thing? Form is form whether a new season comes in between or not. It's still relevant to how you see a manager doing. When Poch got sacked, it wasn't just because of form based on that current season, it was also because he had 3 wins in 12 at the end of the previous season and losses in all 6 of those away games. Rodgers got sacked at Liverpool not only cause he started the new season poorly but because of form he had at the end of the previous season, including a 6-1 loss to Stoke.

You can't just dismiss bad form on the basis that there is a new season. Bad form will put a manager under pressure whenever it is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get your point but I don't agree with it.

You could have a good start to the season or a good end to the season but what matters is where you finish in that season.

From the four games I have seen we have been controlling the matches a lot more so we are conceding less chances.

Despite our disappointing results so far we have conceded fours goals, less than Man Utd, Villa and Chelsea and only one more goal than Man City.

Our inability to finish seems to be our biggest problem, I would say our defending has actually improved.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, yes and no. If you achieve your objective of getting top 4 in a season then that's fine but if you do it while finishing on a run of very few wins in many games, you have to take that into consideration. As it happens Ange missed out on top 4 last season while enduring a poor run of results at the end, and we've carried that on so far into the first 4 games this season. Whether performances are improved or not is sadly secondary to results. It's a results business.

Ultimately, if Ange is good enough he'll be able to convert these better performances into positive results before long and if he isn't, then he won't and he'll be gone.

You didn’t exactly ban me - you just never let me join, we all know why, I kept tipping Chelsea not to win and would have won that prediction league at a stroll.

Starting to wonder if Ange doesn't fancy this gig and is trying to get himself sacked. He looks bloody miserable stood on the sidelines not saying a word with his arms crossed and he's getting very chippy in his pressers.

A weak team and a feeble loss with be one step closer to a hefty payoff just in time for Summer on the beach in Oz
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ange will realize by now what Levy is like, promises will have been broken and ambitions not matched.

Ange has said before he is here to win, not just to take part, it will have dawned on him now that this is not Levy`s ambition and he probably feels a bit cheated.

8 points off league pace, with only 4 games played.

And the prospect of 4 London league derbies in the space of 6 weeks. With league games away to United and Brighton sandwiched in between.

Anyone would be forgiven for choosing to hunker down and concentrate on the league campaign.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our league campaign is worthless, there is zero chance of relegation. If City win on Sunday then I would argue that’s the title done already given their ability during the final push at the end of the season.

CL spots look well beyond us - so what’s the aim? Try and get back into Europe next year only to not take it seriously again?

Ange can still be a hero at the club - 10th and the league cup would genuinely suffice
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is relegation not a possibility?
Yes,the title is certainly "gone",as you say.
10th will be an achievement now.
As for the league tin pot, what is that?
Why not the FA cup?
Have you no confidence at all in AussieGlue?
He always wins in his second season, as you well know! .....

Am I the only one that wants to see us rotate? I think bringing in Bergvall, Gray and Moore is our Saka/Smith Rowe moment. When Arteta decided to do away with Aubameyang and Lacazette, he looked to his academy. From there they never looked back. Tomorrow is an opportunity to stake a claim. I’d rather see what these lads can do with 90 mins than see the same players be given the same chances over and over.

There is only one academy player in the woolwich team right now and that's Saka. He brought Trossard and then Jesus.

But I do agree we should rotate. Games are coming thick and fast. Time to give some game time to the players you mentioned.

Yeah, those are the deserving ones but I want to see Moore trusted. If Odobert plays over Moore I’ll be annoyed. Put them both on. What was the point of playing him all pre-season only to overlook him beyond that? Anyone would think we only did it to ensure he signed a pro deal. 🤔

posted on 17/9/24

Moore didn't play for the U21's so there is a chance he could be included in the squad but guessing he might get minutes off the bench to begin with. Makes sense to ease him in.

posted on 17/9/24

Play a strong side, get a couple of goals up and then make some changes.

If we want to heavily rotate then the Qarabag game is perfect - if we faaack it up we are not out of the comp unlike tomorrow.

Youngsters coming in want to play with the first team, otherwise it just becomes an exhibition match for the U21
