Whose got the better squad?

I think which team / squad is better pretty much depends on what day of the week it is. Both are full of players who don't tend to produce week in / week out, and the inconsistency in both teams is there for all to see, and just as frustrating for both sets of fans.

Currently, neither team seems to have any truly world class players - Son was probably closest for Spurs a couple of years ago but maybe is dropping slightly, Utd potentially have some who could become world class.

But both teams seem to be very far off the top. Should make for a good game however.

Spurs have better finishers and a better keeper, that’s about it really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I would take the United goalie over Vicario right now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Onana is like those keepers on FIFA that are glitched and can only dive on the spot.
Ball trickles past your keeper slightly to the left or right and the keeper dives up in the air but not left or right and it goes in. That's Onana for you.

To be fair, he's not been as bad as last season so far, but it's still early days.

Onana save percentage 68.8% from 16 shots. Vicario 70.6% save percentage from 17 shots.

Man Utd have the worst squad of finishers we had in the PL era. It somehow keeps getting worse nearly every year from near the worst of all time to even worse.😂

We had 2 major issues last season, scoring goals and being way too open, the number of shots we conceded week in week out last season was mental.

EtH seems to have at least sorted out the defensive issues with the signs of de Ligt, Yoro, Urtage and Mazraoui but we still clearly have issues at the other end.

Hojlund and Zirkzee are both young and need time to develop. Hojlund is the more obvious choice for goals but I think Zirkzee is someone who could help us score more from other areas. Going to be interesting to see how both get on this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem with your strikers is that neither looks like they're gonna get big numbers, 20+ a season. Just don't seem like natural finishers. So unless you have a Saka / son combo out wide, who will get 10-15 each then you are going to struggle to hit the 70-80+ goals.

vs Palace you definitely worked some nice positions, looked more creative & imaginative, let down by final ball or finishing, although it dried up a bit in teh 2nd half.

Intrigued to see how you set up against us. There is a blue print to beat us which may not sit comfortably for United fans at home. Will ETH be pragmatic or will you continue to try and play his new way of being more controlling and front foot?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hojlund's shot conversion rate is actually really high. The problem is we haven't created enough chances for him. We have done better in chance creation so far this season compared to last, but obviously Hojlund has been injured. I have been really impressed with Zirkzee so far in terms of knitting our attacks together and believe his presence will mean we continue to create more chances (although he isn't the only reason for the upturn). We shall see what happens once Hojlund returns to the starting lineup and our attacking line starts to form a better understanding.

The reason Hojlund shot conversion is high as nearly every shot he took last season was a big chance. His big chance conversion rate was below average I think.

i was surprised at how many spurs players id pick over Arsenals so itd prob be 9-10 spurs 1 or 2 utd in a combined 11 for me. And i wouldnt be that happy with that as Penandes is a who spends most the game chasing the ref about crying for example. Shaws prob their best player but Udogies a beast and younger so i'd want him.

You made some absolutely shocking calls in that though

And I’d seen Casemiro play before he joined the Premier League. Nuff said.

Good grief
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What’s wrong with that? My point is that you can’t, in all seriousness, put a player in who’s completely untested in this league, however much you might rate him. You’d have probably put Casemiro in over Bissouma based on reputation but you absolutely wouldn’t now. Says everything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you'd take a prime Davide Bellion over a prime Messi in the PL?

look on an individual level i like a lot of spurs players, not my fault the systems and managers etc make arsenals look better spurs look worse xD. i think a lot of that spurs squad are very talented and would be brilliant in a more lets say setttled/sound team/system.

Watch all his goals and tell me there were all easy finishes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RCP5OHpdws

Yes there are some tap-ins, but there also ones where he is beating a couple of players, running from the half way line, technical volleys etc. He is a good striker. We just need to give him better service. The lad had 38 shots in the PL last season and scored 10 goals. Haaland in comparison had 121 shots and scored 27 goals.

Hojlund missed more big chances than Kane did for Spurs when he scored 30 league goals lol.

posted on 23/9/24

I can actually remember Hojlund missing around 8 from like 3 yards out last season with bear an open net.😂 He should have scored at least 7 before he scored against Villa in the league.

posted on 23/9/24

Near not bear. Anyway Man Utd need to beat CL hopefuls in next two games or it will be another season of fighting for 6th to 8th.😂 That is why I was so desperate for Kane. I think Kane in this team and we win nearly every game we play.

Spurs really should be going to Old Toilet and picking up a result, which almost certainly means a Spursy defeat.

The question is NOT who has the better squad,but.....
who has the better manager!

Damned if I know....do you?.....

Both are obviously different in approach, but if you could combine the best attributes of both, you would have a very good manager. I see both as good decent managers without being in that the top group of managers............but then very few are.

Right, I guess we’re just forgetting that Bissouma was shiiiiiiiiit then? Okay.

Ugarte also got in the Copa team of the Tournament. There’s a reason the elite clubs didn’t want Bissouma, and personally I think Ugarte is a better player. It’s not exactly crazy.

This reminds me of when you said loads of Spurs players should get in the signings of the season on my thread last season. Or when you say Spurs conceding dozens of goals isn’t a system error

I’ll leave you to it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There's "isnt a single metric" that shows Maddison is better than Bruno. Proved wrong.

All the metrics show that Solanke is better than Hojlund. Ignored by Hoody.

You are indeed entitled to your opinion...What's that phrase? An opinion that disregards the facts is stupidity. Something like that, any way, you nailed it
