How quickly do you think this test will be over? Pakistan may show more application in their first innings but it surely won't get any easier. Should Pakistan have just picked these 2 bowlers with 8 bats and a keeper?

Looks like they've overcooked the pitch here.

Too much low bounce and turn considering it's the first session.

This is appalling batting though

Yea but it's a rickey, turning, low wicket and we are running down the track or trying slog sweeps

Stokes again fails. Guess no one is gonna mention his return for runs in the last year or 2?? pathetic. I've never got the hype around him. records speak for themselves and he averages only 35 in over an 100 tests..

This is not a 120/6 wicket. Some turn but not impossible to bat.

Would prefer a better balance between bat and ball though. Not exactly going to get easier is it?

We haven't seen what a seamer can do on this pitch. If Atkinson can bowl wicket to wicket. he may be difficult to play.. Stokes won't get his action right to be able to bowl straight. so hopefully we have Leach on the other end

The fact that England's last four wickets comfortably out scored the first six wickets should indicate that this wicket is not that difficult to bat on.

true, but bear in mind Pakistan's leading 2 bowlers seem to be head and shoulders above the rest, and they'd bowled 25 odd overs already.

Couple of vital breakthroughs have given England some hope here

Older ball can sometimes be easier than the newer ball but sometimes you have to give yourself a chance rather than just attacking cos one has your name on it. Smith obviously mixed defence with attack very well.
