Yes he was but I think it wasn't enough distance to say he's denied a goalscoring opportunity
Also haven't seen the goalkeeper position because yesterday the keeper was running away from the ball

----------------------------------------------------------------------
nah it was a red he was clearly last man, the chelsea guy was 5 yards behind salah and 3 yards behind chelsea last man who rugby tackled him.
Joke inconsistency imo.
Colwill was across and good chance he’d get back to make the tackle, yellow correct decision.
Saliba yesterday was a clear red.
Identical apart from the fact there were several Chelsea defenders between Jota and the goal.
If not fouled, Jota has a clear and direct run at goal. Colwill is behind and we cannot take into account things like pace of the players. Contrary to what the refs voice-piece Dean said, the ball was not heading wide, it was directly in front of Jota. There were mitigating factors that mean a yellow is justifiable as would a red - same with Saliba.
But, for me, the big issue with the Saliba red was the ref gave a yellow and the stance of the PGMOL is that refs call is "critical", and VAR should not intervene as the bar is set high for interventions. They did not apply that yesterday. Webb has preached numerous times this season that VAR won't re-ref games but that went out the window for an objective call.
With regards to Ben White / Saliba yesterday...
Seems like everyone is forgetting how much quicker a player runs without the ball and that the trajectory of the ball was actually curving towards White...
https://imgur.com/a/cH1sW8C i assume hes on about this? clearly last man should be a sending off.

Of course there were, hence the ref giving a yellow. Distance, White had a great chance of getting to the ball first, the striker was not in control. Very similar has often seen a yellow.

Honestly this is why the standard will never get any better- rather than admitting inconsistencies people would rather score points against other teams.
I'd have loved Liverpool to drop points today, but i don't see how one is a red and one isn't. Sure, the Chelsea defender was closer than White was, but from the position he was in he was equally ineffective in being able to cover.
There’s a conspiracy against arteta afoot. He’s such a whining twaaat the FA have got fed up of him and his cheaty tactics and have instructed the refs to fack arsenal over.

City seem to be the only team that gets all the debatable decisions go there way. Yesterday was a red but VAR shouldn't have overturned the original decision. Just like Raya pen when he clears the defender out today wasn't a clear and obvious error for me to be overturned
