Nelson Phillips Cashin
Wilson Kenzo Adams Ozoh Osborn
Yates Jackson
I like the look of that team, vidal. Still have Harness to shoehorn in too (as well as NML/CBT).

I hate 3 centre halves, they get in each others way, or leave it to someone else. Most good sides play 4 at the back and I want us to be a good side.
I thought Forsyth should have played and we need someone to hold the ball up like my old pal CM used to do. Like others, I feel sorry for Yates.

But we do not have anyone to hold the ball up, hence the discussion about how to do the best with what we have. All options have their downsides. 4-2-4 is an option with Ozoh and Adams but then we would have no midfield creativity. Any other midfield pairing would risk being overrun. Other than wishing we had players long gone, what do you think would be our best starting eleven VC?

Still waiting for VC but meantime, with our current squad, I don't think there is an ideal starting eleven. On the other hand, as Vidal says, we do have several options which allow for plans B and C via substitutions.
I don't like WBs because we have two good natural wingers in CBT and NML who should be terrorising defences (albeit defending is much better in the Champ). I think Ozzie would be wasted at LWB (if PW does opt for that system) and it would be better filled by Elder, who, no surprise, was not at his best last night. I agree that Ward is not good defensively but in any event, whatever system we play Wilson will be at RB/RWB (and he is looking good) with Rooney/Ward as a back-up. Terrible news about Nyambe who is having rotten luck with injuries
My preferred midfield would be Ozoh, Ebou and Ozzie which would be hard on Kenzo but I would put him in if O gets injured or loses form.
Actually I think Yates does hold the ball up well but he needs someone closer to him to avoid isolation and at present I can't see that happening away from home and only sporadically at home.

My team if all were fit would be:-
Zetterpoom, Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin, Forsyth: Kenzo, Ozoh, Adams: Jackson, Martin (just joking, Yates), M-L.
Which is more or less what PW has picked. Obviously Ward and Osborne for the injured pair. Actually I think Warne has done well so far this season, as long as he doesn't start listening to Vidal. Which seems rather improbable.

You are right there VC. Last night I was calling for NML to be subbed, just before he scored.

NML was lazy again first half and should have stopped their goal (or at least given their lad who assisted something to think about).

Yes that was inexcusable really. I think Warne said he is still a bit jet-lagged from international duty but that’s a flimsy excuse. But he also showed what he is capable of in the second half. I suppose wingers tend to be inconsistent as a species. Gladys was never one for the less fashionable parts of the job, but then if you could deliver a cross like he did you could be forgiven for being a bit lacking in other areas.
