A combination of the cost of sacking EtH, trying to convey an image that INEOS are taking a different approach and want to back the manager as well as there not really being any obvious replacement means I don’t see a sacking any time soon?
….
ETH ain’t the problem. We should be easily in the top 4 now but referees agenda against us, Onana being unable to save anything all season of note and opposition goalkeepers playing MOTM displays against us every week.😂 We also seem to hit the woodwork lots of times.😂

You should watch the Villa Man Utd game. Emery instructed his team to foul our players from behind all game and there first booking was in the 94th minute. They made like 50 fouls to Man Utd 5.
Foul count ended 12 for Villa and 11 for Man Utd and 5 yellows for Man Utd to Villa 1 which was near the last minute of the game. Villa basically did about 20 tactical fouls, 10 fouls from behind, rugby fouled and 1 booking near the end of the game. I honestly thought Emery tactics were to play rugby all game.

I have been ETH out ever since MD6 of the CL group stage almost a year ago. That was the final straw for me.
I'm already INEOS out as well. Nothing they have done so far convinces me this will be any better than under the Glazers having full control. To interview his replacements and then stick with him anyway was arguably worse than anything the Glazers did with any manager and hardly anyone wants to talk about it. He was already on thin ice and they have basically put him in an impossible position ever since those Tuchel talks were made public. Even Erik himself had to answer them in an interview. I really wanted to give them a chance as I really didn't want to see Utd in the hands of Qatar (still don't) but they are just showing how completely inept they are so far.
Apparently Zirkzee wasn't an ETH signing either. It was an INEOS led transfer. If that's true then whoever was behind that deal needs to be sacked immediately. He's not good enough to start for Brentford or Bournemouth.

I really do think something needs to change now though. We know it's not all on the manager but the club does need a bit of feelgood back. There's still every chance of getting into the CL conversation with a decent run of results. I know they'll be looking long term but what we do short term will play a part in that too.
“Apparently Zirkzee wasn't an ETH signing either. It was an INEOS led transfer.”
No signing now should be the managers choice, that’s not how we are supposedly run. He also wasn’t necessarily bought to be an immediate starter, he’s a young player with lots of potential and available for a decent fee. No issues at all about signing him because we should always be on the look out for these types of signings but we also need more ready made players which we don’t have.

I think we’ll see under Ineos something of a balance between top potential and players in their mid-twenties. I don’t think they’d have been interested in Kanes or Toneys last summer - we won’t be chasing players in or past their primes for the first team, at least not for a good few seasons.
It’s definitely looking like 2027/2028 before they’ll be concerned about us challenging. I think the next 12-24 months is going to be about getting sporting strategy sorted and operations in place to support the strategy, and all the while shaping the squad to start getting it fit and playing the kind of football they want to see. Then they’ll start looking harder at the results being delivered.
Anyone who thinks some pragmatic new manager will have us ‘bounce back’ and competing quickly, or that Ineos will panic and start make sticking plaster signings of experienced pros with 2-3 years of top level football left to help grind out results is going to need to buckle up hard, because this is going to be a long process.
I appreciate we have this new transfer strategy of buying young talent with the view that they will develop into top class players. But the problem is that we don't really have any truly world class players in the first place. You look at the first choice team and most of it is similar to the past 2 seasons - mostly same players, not producing the goods when it matters.
So we are maybe playing a little bit tighter than last year, but we are still not scoring goals - people talk about missing all those great chances, well the table doesn't lie, we have scored 8 goals in 9 games.
Zirkzee is a solid squad signing, but not getting in a proven striker was just naive and pure madness - it could have been Solanke or Toney, sometimes you need to take that risk and splash a bit of cash.
And looking at who we have brought in, is that really the best out there? I accept it's early days for all of them, but De Ligt looks ropey, not sure why Ugarte isn't starting as he is meant to be our CM saviour. There is so much talent out there in the EPL, who would do anything to be at a club like Utd - let's not beat about the bush, we should be raiding smaller clubs of their best talent as well as developing our own.
It probably all isn't ETH's fault, but since the year zero, the ultimately responsibility always lies with the manager - I'm not sure why we are so scared to let him go. Honestly, I would get rid of him, this sounds crazy, but on a purely 'interim, no way are you being considered permanently', I would even bring back Ole, just to bring enjoyment back etc, especially if we don't know who we want on a permanent basis.
Various managers at different clubs who from day one seem so in charge, having a given identity and all the players are buying into it - we have none of that, the acceptance of such mediocrity is beyond me.
It does make me question ETH's thinking, he went on about needing different players to implement his way of playing, complaining about injuries (ok we have a few right now), but we are still playing most of the same squad, with same front 3 who have shown they aren't up to producing it consistently
Given the change in playing style the sporting strategy team are going to want to see, I’m not sure Ole will be high up on their list.
The players need coaching a certain way, and need to be playing in such a way, week in, week out, which will see them develop in the direction of the football we’re ultimately aiming at, win, lose or draw.
That’s going to be more important right now than results to Berrada, Ashworth and Wilcox.

Well yes. United have always been kind of 'obliged' to entertain supporters in Old Trafford (and those who pay TV subcriptions from home) that pay to watch games, since Busby days. Previously United more often than not always had a squad of players and coach/manager with a style of play that could play entertaining football and win. So in this current crisis, United have to balance that by chucking them a bone occassionally and try winning games ,dirty' whatever it takes. Coming away seeing your team win a game is far more rewarding (and bodes well for the next game) than watching them regularly panic and chit the bed and not win games because they are not capable of or dont understand or dont agree with or cant be arzed, (*delete as appropriate) to collectively do what the manager is asking of them.

I don't disagree with Rosso that it could well be a long process results-wise. Having said that though I would quite like to see United entertain me and look like they're moving forward.

I think the problem we're having at present is that we're not having either on a consistent basis!
