This is why democracy doesn't work when the majority of people are stupid. It is also why we are flooded with crap like Love Island on TV. We get what appeals to the stupid majority. There are no real natural predators for humans these days. It's the same with deer here. So we have to cull the weakest deer for the good of the deer population or they'd all starve to death. Are we getting close to this point with humans where action is needed?

Odds don’t really mean anything at this stage, people are still voting for hours yet.

The US is a fertile breeding ground for cults, and there is no doubt that Trumpism is a cult. Whether this is the result of a poor education system or the politicised media is an interesting question but unquestioning loyalty to the cult leader despite irrefutable facts is something that typifies cult membership. Trump's constant lies don't matter to his cult members. Scary that such a powerful country will be controlled by cult membership.

Of course it’s a cult, unfortunately it’s a fascist cult.

An element of voting that I find interesting is the psychology behind why people (again mostly stupid) vote for who they think is going to win, so that they can be on the winning side. It's like the glory hunting of politics. Maybe this would be a good place to start when binning off people.

Easy. Trying to make it law that voted ID is not required so all the voters the Dems imported can vote for her that have been strategically migrated to swing states.

If people want to see an ID mandate introduced for voting, the burden *is on them* to explain and prove *why* such a mandate should be introduced.

Not on others to explain why it shouldn’t.

Or can we start campaigning, say, for a home crocheted scarf mandate for voters? Or a strawberry blancmange mandate?

Many US TV shows keep insisting that the US is some sort of shining beacon of democracy when all the facts point to it not being in the top 25 globally. Gerrymandering and voter suppression is rife, the whole electoral college is insane and if a candidate takes the matter to court it will be decided by politically appointed judges. Bastion of democracy? Really???

Totally agree, VC. Harris wins for me, and I don’t think it’s going to be nearly as close as most of the media think either.

Been following it pretty closely since Kamala entered the race, and if you look at pretty much any INDEPENDENT polling then ALL the momentum is with her, while Trump and his team have run an absolutely disastrous campaign. All they have is lowest common denominator abuse and fabricated scaremongering … oh, and flooding the election space with fake polls on an industrial scale. They’ve really ramped up the sh1thousery this time, as they’ve very little else to offer. He’s absolutely not going to accept defeat though … again.
