The problem with MUST's comment here is that whilst they are right to knock the Glazers lack of investment and mismanagement of the club, the one thing they have done is kept season ticket prices at a low level.

Many of the seasons they have been in charge has seen little to no increase in season ticket prices.

United have never been anywhere near the top of the Season Ticket price table. they are currently 10th below teams like Brighton and Fulham and Bournemouth.

This comes across as MUST acting like spoilt children.

Dont worry VC OT will be full every week. £66 or not. Nobody is throwing toys. Fans have a voice like it or not. The whole idea of the fans forum was to bridge a communication gap between the club and the fans. But now they are rail roading policy change through literally overnight. Ive been critical of MUST in the past but now they occupy 2 seats on the forum to represent fans they are our main vouce like it or not.

As per RBW, I think we can see this as two separate issues: 1) What is a reasonable ticket price? 2) Does the new leadership walk the walk when it comes to treating fans as genuine stakeholders?

On the first, I'm conflicted. I want live football to be accessible to the working class communities living near the club. I don't like the fact that younger fans have been increasingly priced out of going to matches. On the other hand, in a sport where spending power has a major impact on competitiveness and given the criminal mismanagement of the club by the Glazers, I understand there are consequences to being idealistic about pricing. I would hope that if we get a 100,000-seat stadium, this could give the club leeway to make affordable seats available while massively increasing revenue from premium / corporate hospitality seating. Again, I don't want to be naive about INEOS's motives, but there's maybe some business benefit (and definitely sporting benefit) to having the kind of raucous atmosphere that comes from limiting the prawn sandwich contingent. Hopefully the accountants can see some bottom line benefit to being more Yellow Wall than Library.

On the second point, it's much clearer. Either there's genuine listening and genuine dialogue that informs INEOS decision making, or not. That doesn't mean MUST has a veto, but there should be real consultation.

Glazers kept prices in line with City Liverpool and Everton. That should be the case. Tickets in Londonand the South like most other things, are a differnt gravy. Even if they are to see only the likes of Fulham and Brighton. But that is their cud to chew over with their
own fans. Nobody is going to pack in watching United at OT if London clubs charged £10 a ticket.

The Glazer's absolutely fecked the club over with their (what should be illegal) leveraged buyout.

United may well have spent heavily but they were such a goliath prior to the takeover their potential spending ability dwarfed all other PL clubs.

Now after ruining the club they've bought on more leeches to feed off the carcass...

It will be interesting to see ticket pricing policy if and when a brand new stadium opens for use. It would be also intetesting to learn just how big OT has to be before we start seeing empty seats at matches. Which is a sight on TV they wouldnt like. MUFC seem to take our huge support home and away for granted and treat them like canon foder more often these days. This isnt the first time this season they have challenged its fans. Im sure they believe that the ground will be sold out no matter how high they build it and how they treat the supporters on match days or how much they charge

I have a 10 year old son who isn't into football so he doesn't come with me. My god I have tried to get him into it but he's just not interested at all. Saving me a fortune in long run though. 😂

The lack of consultation with fans demonstrates the club's overwhelming disconnection from its key stakeholders, namely the match going fans. This price hike appears to be an attempt to offset the financial mismanagement overseen by the Glazers, particularly since the departures of SAF and David Gill, when the club shifted focus from on field success to maximising sponsorship revenue. During this period, the club took part in reckless spending without a clear plan to achieving success on the pitch, while the ownership drew over £1 billion in dividends and left the club to shoulder servicing their debt.

All this was done without any fresh investment from the owners. A decade of financial inefficiency have now caught up, and it is the fans who are being forced to bear the cost. Utd fans have shown patience with their managers and teams, but this exploitation by the ownership is unforgivable!

Well, we posted a big loss last year (£113m), which is very bad news for PSR for the next two years.

Then on top of that, the latest quarterly figures show that versus the same period last year:

- broadcasting revenue is down by over 20%
- commercial revenue is down by 6%
- matchday revenue is down by 3%

Then we have the exceptional costs related to the big redundancy scheme (£9m).

So another operating loss for the quarter, and yes, we’re going to need to either cut costs further somehow or raise revenue considerably somehow if we’re going to comply with PSR this season and next.

We are in agreement here. Same thing with my lad. Now 25 and totally uninterested in football.

There was a four- or five-year period where he played in goal and had all the DDG memorabilia, though.

However we’ll never be charging the price in London for obvious reasons, added to the fact we also have to sell 55k (?) season tickets, more than other clubs.

He's into music and plays guitar so that will do for me. That's my other big passion.

Feels like I failed as a Dad because he doesn't really like Sport and I'm obsessed with it but we decided to just let him choose his own path.

In some ways it might be a good thing though as most of his mates are City fans as they are 10 so will obviously all choose the successful team of the moment. Can you imagine if he asked me for a City shirt for Christmas? I'd disown him. 😂

In the fans questionnaire I think stable ticket prices were the number 1 priority.

Should have added that there is some good news:

The wage bill was down by £10.1m to £80.2m for the quarter.

More work to do on that, clearly, but it’s going in the right direction at least.
