Hmm. Who are these players? I have got Cole, Rio and Veron. In my head I am thinking that Pallister was one also, but he isn't on the list on the club's website.

Having worked in the digital marketing myself for 5 years, I can see right through his waffle!
To be honest, I don't even know how we ended up talking about transfer fees and spend. My initial point was that SAF had a hell of a lot to do to get United competing when he took over. Pep has managed teams that were in a much better state from the off.
That is no slight on Pep. He is a fantastic coach. But I don't think that he could have done what SAF did and managed as much of the club as he did, whilst retaining that same level of coaching ability.

What you actually mean is that I wrote one sentence on that. One.
What’s actually happened is that I said their legacies were poles apart and for me, 7 games doesn’t change that.
You turn totally misquoted me (which you apologised for tbf) and I then asked what is Ferguson legacy on the game.
You said you’d get back to me later. Of course you didn’t.
I then posted about Peps influence on the game, through coaching and his players and staff moving into management and that although Ferguson is a great manager, it’s nowhere near the same legacy and influence. No waffle there either.
In the midst of that you accused me of fixating on spend when in reality all I did was ask you a question whilst you wrote five separate post on spend.
I don’t come on here as much these days as a lot of the best posters have left and now it’s filled with people who are at best, very economical with the truth.

Over significant periods of time, clubs like Liverpool were outspending United.

Ian Rush was the record signing at that time at £2.8m.
Pallister was £2.3m a year later. Would have been the record for a defender I'd imagine, but that's not really a thing is it?
If it was a thing it was broken couple of years later when City signed Keith Curle. And equalled when City signed Terry Phelan after that.

Pallister's transfer broke the national record for a fee paid for a defender, as well as being the highest fee between British clubs, and the second highest fee to be paid by a British club (second only to Ian Rush's return to Liverpool from Juventus a year earlier).

No need to apologise, just thought I’d point out what was actually written. It’s all there in black and white and have a nice day.

Due to my personal situation I don't usually have time to post on an evening and didn't get chance last night. By the time I got back to the thread this morning you'd moved onto how much SAF had spent, so I replied to that.

7 bad games doesn’t change much for me tbh, Pep is quite obviously the greatest. Just the influence he’s had on other coaches and youth development all over the world is testament to that.
I don’t think anyone is trying to copy breaking the transfer record more than anyone else and bullying refs tbh. Their legacies are miles apart.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine this as an opening gambit, about one of the best ever managers in the game, and then accusing others of seeking attention.
Keep up the good work with the self awareness, Robbing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I did think she same. Not sure if he has a total lack of self awareness or is just a wum.

Ferguson broke the record five times, more than double anyone else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmm. Who are these players? I have got Cole, Rio and Veron. In my head I am thinking that Pallister was one also, but he isn't on the list on the club's website.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Keane, Cole, Veron, Ferdinand. Possibly also Van Nistelrooy. Can't remember if he was signed before or after Veron. Pallister transfer definitely didn't break the transfer record.
If it's 4 times then I think it's as many as Dalglish. Beardsley, Rush, Sutton, Carroll.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Pallister may have been the record for a British player? Or maybe a defender?

And I think Grealish was a record for a British player too

Ian Rush was the record signing at that time at £2.8m.
Pallister was £2.3m a year later. Would have been the record for a defender I'd imagine, but that's not really a thing is it?
If it was a thing it was broken couple of years later when City signed Keith Curle. And equalled when City signed Terry Phelan after that.

Just out of interest Elvis, what, specifically, about that post would demonstrate a lack of self awareness?
I’m willing to bet money to a charity of your choice that you are unable to say with any credibility, and have instead just dropped a cheap soundbite.
I’ll wait.

Winston has already highlighted it. A ridiculous barbed comment denigrating SAF with the sole intention of getting attention. Then accusing others of seeking attention. Its comical that you don't even recognise it yourself, as its sormething you do on regular basis.
I'll expect the usuall bluster and insults.

Pallister's transfer broke the national record for a fee paid for a defender, as well as being the highest fee between British clubs, and the second highest fee to be paid by a British club (second only to Ian Rush's return to Liverpool from Juventus a year earlier).

It’s okay to say ‘no, I can’t, sorry about that’.
Nothing posted has anything to do with self awareness. It just doesn’t.
Look, it’s fine. You’ve lied and that’s okay. Happy to stand corrected btw so feel free.
