Sitting on our hands in January has cost us many times in the past. Saying that, players that are doing well and scoring for their present clubs are not for sale anyway in Jan. I would like to think we could offload some of our own surplus to requirements players but that is unlikely.
Maybe we should just trust our powers that be since they have been very astute so far (Tanaka prime example).

My money is on Joffy leaving before Bamford. He’s young and needs games now or he will be a forgotten man.
Bamford will stay because of his wages. Unless a bottom half Prem teams takes a risk on him.
I think we are a different animal to last season though - the stupid mistakes in midfield seem to be getting fewer and fewer and the two centre backs seem to be everywhere they are needed.
Mind you they had help from “ he’s here, he’s there, he’s every fing where, Daniel James, Daniel James!”
Where did he come from to win that ball at left back when he was on the right wing a few seconds before? He rightly got a standing ovation for that interception!

It all comes from the top, but we all know its how it goes on the field that really matters to us fans.
Its obviously in everybody at the clubs interest to get promoted and from what we've seen, I probably trust these lot to make the right calls more so than others.
what I will say, is the premier league will be a whole new challenge for them.. we really don't want these lot 'learning on the job'... the premier league so unforgiving, lets get it right first time please

Spit, I think the 49ers have shown at this level they have a plan, and I think if we go up they'll know they'll have to do more, but the players they are looking at now won't be as cheap in the prem, but I think the way they do things and the way they work, they'll have a better idea than any of us and will be planning for things to come!..

Thing is Lorra last season me and many others thought Joseph was the 2nd coming and were screaming at Farke to play him more and this season he has had a real knock to his confidence I think following that crucial miss against Burnley where he now seems to me to almost be trying too hard and consequently his natural goal poaching and goal scoring abilities apart from his last minute goal against Shef Utd seem to have gone awol
However as we all know success in any elite sport is all about what goes on between the ears and although Joseph has not impressed for some time now, like I said against Shef Utd as substitute was his last goal and before that his only other goal this season was a lovely finish aginst Hull and he did have a fine game away at Wednesday but that is really it.
Neverthless I do think Farke will start him away at Preston but he really needs to justify that starting place with a goal which hopefully could be all he needs to reactivate his self belief and prove to DF he is our main man uo front and he then goes on an amazing goalscoring run....or not as the case may be but I think it has surprised a lot of us that he hasn't so far lived up to our high expectations of him when we saw what he was capable of against Chelsea....time will tell.

Agree Germany, and tbf, there's nothing to suggest they can't get it right if/when we do go up
Good article and comments throughout. I think the club will make some loan additions in the January window. Might be a couple moving out on the fringes (Joffy?). Not sure who they will be but never a better time to bolster than from a position of strength rather than one of need.
Failure not an option for the future of the club with all the plans we have and whoever it is "on ' should be taken out of the equation. They will add.
Ideally sign a striker with some dynamism, with a skill set to match, push the boat out if necessary.
I like my strikers to be dynamic and ‘dirty’ ….in my opinion the strikers we’ve had these past few seasons have been too passive
^^^
Agree 100% NJS.
9 for me, in that vein, is crucial. Puts us in such
a strong position if the club does it. And I think they
will. I think Farke's "quiet January' is a ruse. I'm
feeling confident that the club has learned from
the mistakes of last season. Add a 10 on loan if
possible and we're untouchable.
