That 6-4 game
He was ridiculous that day tbf
Scored four didn’t he?

Defoe got 5 vs Wigan in the 9-1
Still got the newspapers I bought next day for the back pages after that one.

Think Sons vs Chelsea is a little bit overrated if only for the fifa glitch David Luiz attempted as a tackle

Re showing euro 96

That’s the first competition I can remember.

Dele vs Palace

I know the Bostock meme but I couldn't pick him out in a crowd.

Yeah that was a terrible watch

86 was my first World Cup I guess
Hazy memories tho....probably remember the whinging more as it went on for, well it’s still going on now.
Italia 90 was my first real one, immersed in it at 12 years old. Had the Umbro tracksuit (more a shellsuit) and that was the first and last time I cried after a game of football. Until that recent one I’m not yet over, although that was less heart breaking sobbing and more shedding a solitary tear for all the pointless inevitability of it all.
Sigh

Baggio’s rats tail and the ballooning over penalty miss
Diana Ross’ one was arguably better

Seemed proper weird holding it in the US back then.
Was going to take America by storm.
There was a legacy and it was predominantly female.
You’re never gonna make it the number one sport in the States tho

His volley is obscene that game, only player in PL history who would have probably attempted that!

Yeah Defoe got 5 but I still think Lennon was the best that day

98 WC was my first real World Cup memories actually.

The Romania and Argentina games are the standouts.

Sure I’ve told this story before but I still remember walking to the Blockbuster up the road with my England shirt and one guy beeped at me then went ‘comeon!’ We went in and I still remember getting bonbons bizarrely. As I left the store two teenagers saw me and my dad and went ‘take that off you f*cking pr**k’ . I was 6 at the time.

Re Lennon vs Wigan agreed, can’t say a lot about the opposition that night tbf.
If Lennon had you on toast, he had you on toast every time,
Evra could never suss him
will always have a lot of love for Azza.

My earliest memory is Atchet picking me up from infants school in his sheepskin coat, and taking us to watch Return of the Jedi at the cinema.
