Romero is great at: looking calm while passing

Generally I think he's better at defending, yeah. And largely that is down to his physicality, yeah. But also temperament. I feel like actual defending is almost beneath Romero at times

He'll do a last minute or tough 50-50 tackle out of spite

Romero vs VDV:
Dribbling when pressed - Romero
Dribbling covering distance - VDV
Passing (all) - Romero
Shooting - Romero
Attacking Headers - Romero

Tackling - Romero
Covering - VDV
Last gasp tackles - VDV
Anticipation - Romero
Positioning - Tie (I think both can switch off)
Interceptions - Tie
Defensive Headers - Romero
Defensive headers from set pieces - both SUCK

Pace - VDV
Nimbleness - Romero
Strength - Tie
Looks - VDV

Until Romero actually does it consistently he's overrated because of the things he does well that aren't defending. VdV gets a pass because he's much younger, less experienced so naturally has a higher ceiling. Also he's much faster and better looking

He is much faster and better looking. I actually think VDV gets an easy ride at times but I'm not complaining as its nice to see a player not getting slated.

Vdv is a pretty poor defender if his pace don’t get to the ball first to clear

Vdv is like a CB version of Kyle Walker when he played for us. Great but not the best defender.

He needs to model himself on his national team mate Van Dyke, who was transferred to Liverpool at the age of 26 and really pushed on.

Luckily for Micky he is 23 so there plenty of time for him
to push on as well.
