Pretty, sure. But not as pretty as VdV

Yeah exactly. Walker was criminally underrated the whole time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think that skillset suits a FB position more, but its splitting hairs here really. Also Kyle Walker was quality in the air - only really ever seen him bested by Alonso.
Just generally it's 'he's fast if he wasn't fast he wouldn't be so good' is silly thinking. He is fast. So ner
Remember when poch had the DM dropped between the CB and then pushed the FBs really high.
I think our defence is primed for that but we just don’t have the DM ( or coach ) to use it
To his credit, when Romero is switched on he is pretty good at everything tbf to him.
For the Argies he hardly makes any mistakes and does look like a worldie but the system probably suits him better.
Also. Banana bread every time. Cinnamon Danish is great but easier to mess up.

Could be just international football suits him better tbf

I agree on the whole, I always found it frustrating when people said that Walker's positioning is terrible and he got bailed out with his pace.
If he was 5km/h slower he would be further back in position but doesnt need to be cos he is so quick

A lot of people are highlighting that we have been overlooking how much international travel he has been doing and as a result is probably mentally fatigued, a fair point.
Highlighting/excusing. Similar similar

Defo agree with Hengy, if we played West Ham on Sunday then Romero should be considered. We play again on Thursday anyway so Romero can back and one of the other two can be rested.

This is an intersting point. Which prompts two questions from me.
1. If we were setting up like 16/17 Poch who would be in which position?
2. If Poch had this team would we be doing a better job?
I remember the long term injury excuses for Dele then Winks
If they're consistently not as good as we think maybe they're just not as good as we think? Jus sayin
When Poch was in charge pretty sure we didn't play against so many teams who parked the bus against us.
Feel like almost everyone in the prem does these days
1.
Kane-Solanke
Dele-Kulu
Eriksen - Madders
Dembele - Bissouma
Wanyama-???
Rose - Udogie
Vert - VDV
Dier - Drag?
Toby - Romero
Walker - Porro
Hugo - Vic

That's a good point. There's much clearer tiers in the league these days
And no offence but harking back to the Poch days is pointless. The games has moved on alot since then.
Blame Pep and Klopp.
Ya know, I reckon if you looked at the league now vs then I reckon a similar amount of teams parked the bus

Yeah the game has developed significantly and its tough to gauge where Poch sits right now after disappointing stints at PSG & Chelsea.
I just wonder how our team would look if we went for the Poch style like Hengy mused.

Also games like the one vs Swansea where Jansenn set up that last minute winner vs a turgid park the bus game. Or the late 1-0 Kane win against Palace under Hodgson. As great as the season and results were - some sticky sticky games.

I was thinking of this when wrote what I wrote. Leicester, West Brom, Newcastle, Villa maybe? and a few more did park the bus abit.
But it's telling Woolwich and Brighton to an extent totally changed their weekly philosophy and game plan for us. Kents.

But the league is stronger now compared to back then. Poch's era was post Wenger and Fergie.
We have just lived prime Klopp and Pep with Pep still going strong. This is the best Villa team in decades, Newcastle are a better outfit now as well. Chelsea have funded Brighton lol.
