I mean, we’ll miss all his goals but we’ll find a way to manage.

You were lolling hard when you composed the final sentence.
If we can break even on him, and there are forwards available who are attainable and that Wilcox, Vivek and Amorim agree would better suit the new system, then why not?
We would need a CM bringing in before we let him go though.

Doesn't have the mobility to succeed here. Forwards who don't have a lot of pace need to have a really strong all around game to compensate. He doesn't.
I'd take the money personally if it's true. Wheatley will be better than him and Obi Martin looks a real talent too.

Put the money towards Cunha.

If we could get our money back for him, what do people think of Strand Larson or Liam Delap as options? Both are scoring goals in poor teams at PL level, neither are in their prime years yet and neither would cost the earth the acquire.

Last thing we need is another really young striker. We have Hojlund already and a few very talented kids in the academy.
This squad needs a lot of obviously but we are really crying out for a top striker in his prime more than anything else.

I think Zz is a talented player and one who could come good in a system that benefits from the specific attributes of his unusual profile. Maybe in an Amorim team where he had the right kinds of players for his template it could be worth hanging onto him and easing him into this league while innovating the game plan. In the current circumstances (severely lacking in Plan A players of sufficient quality / athleticism, while lacking funds to invest) it would seem very sensible to release players who aren't an easy fit and who have market value.

And how are we paying for a striker in his prime who can guarantee goals in the PL? Fire sale of the squad and put the annual transfer budget into CF?

We most likely aren't.
Do you think these younger options are going to be given to us for free though? Ipswich are going to want £50/60m for Delap anyway.
I don't think we have any money this January either unless we sell somebody.

We’re crying out for several top players entering their prime years but that’s obviously totally unrealistic. We need to be much, much more shrewd in the transfer market.
I’d absolutely love for us to go and sign Cunha. He’ll cost a lot but he ticks every box for that LF role (and can get an option at CF, too). I’m not sure there’s a top CF out there right now that guarantees goals.
I think we’d benefit more right now by strengthening the team in multiple positions rather than going all out on a CF.
A LWB, RWB and an attacking player of some repute (whether that’s CF or LF/RF) would make a massive difference, and we’d still need at least one more CM player as well. If we’re going to make our limited budget stretch further, we need to find some cheap talent, free transfers and quality players that can cover more than one position.
