That was a quick one star.
Have 5 from me.
Even smart people can do dumb things, but when dumb people do them it ends more spectacularly.
If it had been Joey Barton he could have been the new OJ
intelligence doesn't buy you happiness ...
Does your point have any relevance to the topic?
I heard he could not find his car, due to been a tad tipsy, reported it as stolen to the police, and was then stopped a couple of hours later by the same copper he reported it to. Now that is clever.
Was his drink spiked like Kean's was ?

Not as funny as the bloke who told me about it.
But still, some hard evidence
'Britains brainiest footballer' doesn't mean a lot really does it. Its not like there is much competition
"If it had been Joey Barton he could have been the new OJ"
The lad maybe a thug etc but he certainly isnt dumb.

Topic title says "So much for being smart..."
How many different ways can you read that?!
Well what does happiness have to do with it then? Is happiness drink driving? Because if it is, I don't want to be happy. Ever.
Total sc_umbag!
At least he admitted it unlike Kean!
Reduced ban, ridiculous! Make them do the course as well as!
Should resign from the PFA!
To the contrary I meant Super Keith Andrews - surely if you're happy you don't NEED to drink drive? Much, much more likely if you unhappy surely (?), so actually being my approval of the original title "So much for being smart..." We've seen it in all walks of life and not just football, shouldn't come as a surprise
Obviously there is no justification for his actions .I was convicted of the same offence many years ago and it was a huge wake up call to the point where much as I like my ale and wine, the car stays at home.
The difference I see here is that Carlisle came to Burnley with the stigma attatched of being being an Alcoholic and ressurrected his career under Owen Coyle (himself a non drinker). The bloke has always admitted openly his alcohol addiction and his fight with that, unfortunately it would appear he's fallen off that wagon and has been rightly punished by the law.
Should we now castigate him further by attempting to draw comparisons for inter club rivalry's sake with Steve Kean? This being a man who used the 'my drink was spiked' excuse in court?
I will give you the difference. One is a footballer with intelligence.but unfortunately an alcohol addiction. The other is a fabulously crap manager,, protected by his club's owners for reasons no Rovers fan can explain either, who will never admit to any faults of his own.
Totally agreed Exiled kean is deluded to even think of getting away with the excuse my drink was spiked my lord. Yet venkys want to come across as a family club with a convicted drink driver as a manager....At least carlisle pleaded guilty and took the punishment first hand....So hopefully he will be back on the wagon and realize his mistake lets hope he passes Blackburn and take this clown kean with him........

I believe Carlisle was actually schooled in Blackburn......
Coincidence?
I believe both people are disliked by Blackburn fans.....
Coincidence?
*Yeah, I know. Yours was funnier.
Behave yourself mr exiled.
Not bad though SKA (ok)
Evening star esquire, one is on one's best behaviour
Exiled was you also schooled in Blackburn.......????
Skipton, Ermysted's grammar school Sir Harry....just to add credence to the myth that Burnley is in Yorkshire
It's not in Yorkshire
It's in the no mans land between Yorkshire and Lancashire. Neither county wanted it.
