Nice one Jacko,
wow, Sure is a lot of History there,
Not a nice thing to say, But I hope the game against the Blades takes it out of them tonight,
Personally, I see Saturday's fixture as a real test for TOWN, & will take any & every advantage that comes our way,
'wet blanket' approach from me, & If offered, I'd take your 0-0 prediction right now.
I'd like to think Clark has the confidence to take this game by the scruff of the neck, However, Brown might have the advantage over 'our' man in this pressure type situation, having been in this position week in week out a couple of seasons ago.
I want to see TOWN just 'Go for it', If TOWN look like they are trying to out gun 'em, no matter what, Then yeah, I reckon the home crowd will rise to the occasion too,
If they (PNE) win tonight, surely more will be encouraged to come to the 'Pharm.. But an away game 4 days after a home tie might just be a bridge too far on the pocket for some...
you mentioned Preston, Burnley & Wolves being the only teams to have been champions of all four Leagues. Could this season see TOWN being the 4th team to accomplish this feat ?
COME ON TOWN,
Great article Jacko! 5 stars from me!
Its going to be a tricky one to call and i predict a tight cagey afair. Town havent exactly set the world alight at home this season and another tentative start might be on the cards! Perhaps our usual 'good' 45 mins in the match might be enough to seal the win!
Our cause would be helped if Messrs Hume and Mellor werent fit to play. Hume was a really good player in his Crewe days and always caused Town problems!
No predictions from me, as i always get them wrong! I do however think that Town will scrape the win!
We'll win this game more comfortable than we have won any of our so calls "easier games" this season . I know it, you know it , and Clark knows it .
Great article jonny! The away attendance will sell out if they beat Sheff U tonight.
a home game to look forward to..
no disrespect intended but wycombe and stevenage do not get the heart beating faster..
there is no one to fear in this league, nobody is anywhere near as good as southampton(on their day) were last season, i dont think anyone is as consistent in performance as brighton were last year and apart from us, no one is , as yet, or will score as freely as the posh..
clark will talk about respect and preston being a good, tough side with an experienced manager etc etc, but in the end they are below us and we are at home, end of story, its a home game and we have to win them...
If they (preston) come with the idea of a draw and close the door i feel we'll find em hard to break down but on the other hand if they come to play football i think it could be another 3-0.....4-0 to town:D
If Preston( they )hehe. turn up at at all on satetday they will lose.
How preston play on saturday will , i believe, very much depend on the result they get today against sheffield, if the win today i can see them setting up for a draw in saturday , however if they draw or lose today they come at us and try and win the game so they dont slip further behind where there game in hand will count for nothing
I sence people are a bit worried about satetday . Why ?... We're the best team by a mile and a bit . Preston are a good side yes but not has good as Suton and Brighton were last season and did we beat them 2 teams last season at home and also put up very good shows the answer 2 both is yes . Don't worry we will win and win big .
Its our first home test, if you look at last season, we won 13 away games, home form cost us, yet when we played the best teams we won, Southampton, Brighton, M K, Charlton, and drew with Posh & Bournemouth! Town will win 2-0 on Saturday.
I'd rather play the top teams than the little clubs where we can't seem to get motivated.
Surely Towns players will be well up for this one...
IF we get promoted we will have bigger tests than Preston next season, we have got nowt to fear on Saturday, i'm going for 3-1 town and them(Preston ) to score first.
cheers Hydy, amazing what you can dig up with wikipedia and statto ...
What is the they (Preston) all about anyway hahaha.
They(Preston) are losing tonight loui
hey jacko master great thread really enjoyed reading it
i think saturday will be easier for us that against the rubbing rags, we will up our game to make sure we can compete but what town players dont realise is by doing this we'll smash em!
my prediction town 3 preston 0
Its 1-1 now. Is that the best score for us?
goals are going in kid. (they) are shipping goals. looking forward to saturday now!
Lets hope Clarke is making loads of notes tonight, we should rip em apart, just like we did to their apponents tonight.
Yes we should score a few against them (preston)
2-2...not bad result so far, 27 mins to go
I hope they draw but I can't see it more goals to come two poor teams playing each other both can't defend a team of grandmas
