"to use a metaphor that was used yesterday - A german gets caught doing 100mph on the motorway in england.... should he be punished?
of course he should. despite the fact he can do those speeds on the autobahns (some of them, at least) he was still speeding in our country.
you obey the laws of the country you are in, or you fall foul of them. simples."
That's a crap metaphor. The speed limits are clearly posted on motorways so people can't plead ignorance. Unless there are 'no heavy petting' signs in prominent places in Saudi Arabia then it's not the same thing at all.
Saving money for later i will get a kebab chips and pizza meal deal. I deserve it

i have never seen 70mph posted on any motorway or dual carriageway. it is posted as national speed limit or a reduced limit for roadworks or whatever
It's a discussion not an argument so it's fine on the record thread

You have either never driven on motorways near ports, airports or international train stations or you just don't notice them because you're already aware of the law then. They put big clear signs up in multiple languages.
Any 8" pizza, kebab meat, chips, salad, 1.5L bottle of soft drink, chilli OR garlic sauce
£8.50

i've seen signs telling people to drive on the left.... never seen one for a speed limit. may have just missed them i guess, but the point is they're not all over the place.
the original point though was simply that you abide by the laws of the country you are in, not the laws of your home nation.

are you calling all our opinions irrelevant Fred?
sorry fred, you can start a debate, but you don't get to decide when it ends.
andy, pizza was only invented as a convenient way to eat pepperoni.
anyone who serves a pizza without pepperoni on it should be shot.
anyone who serves a pizza with any kind of fish on it should be shot twice.
