help -

Rennes are far better than Malmo and Maribor, in my opinion.

No scottish team can expect to beat ANY team in europe these days, home or away.

We have almost a full team of injuries last night and still got a good result.

You are 12 points clear in the SPL and we aren't gonna get through our europa league group, can you not get over your jealousy?

Maryhill - After all the trouble recently, that performance probably seemed excellent to Lennon and the boys. It wasn't. But all things are relative I suppose.
Don't get me wrong, it was a decent performance and a good result. But a team with a decent striker would have scored more than the one that Rennes managed.
I would expect my manager to be working on that defence behind closed doors. But there isn't a lot wrong with him talking up his team and his players after recent weeks.
Especially with such a big game on Sunday.

When Hearts and Rangers go to the wall it'll be a tough fight for the SPL with Mothwell

It's like talking to a brick wall.

Under the circumstances i.e. at least 6 first team players missing, it was an outstanding performance.

HFH - Technically, most teams - even the minnows - in Europe are streets ahead of the OF.

It's a simple fact

injuries are part and parcel of football, every club gets them to use it after a decent win in europe is pathetic, enjoy your win

jessy you still going on about the champions not being there? grow ya boring cant

Irvine - six first team players missing is a myth.

By and large these were Lennon's players. Remember the boast about having two teams?

Can't have it both ways.

jealousy of what exactly? the wooden spoon race of the back door competition

i have repeatedly said it was a good win, it means hee haw

I'm not using it as an excuse, why would I? You said Celtic should be beating teams like Rennes, and a was just pointing out Celtic done it with 7 first team players out..credit is due

posted on 4/11/11

Yes and when you nearly held Man Utd most of you described the performance as being outstanding in the circumstances

posted on 4/11/11

Just for clarity - is it six or seven first team players who were missing. It's growing by the post.

And, at the risk of repeating myself, what has happened to the boast of Celtic having two teams?

posted on 4/11/11

Irivne - there's a world of difference between Man U and Rennes don't you think?

Not to mention home advantage for Celtic...

posted on 4/11/11

the competition is a complete farce, because of the sion situation, celtic are there on a technicality and are using it for bragging rights

remember you turned a corner when you gained a draw against rennes then drew with hibs, keep you powder dry bhoys

Dos... Ferguson showed Rangers no respect at Old Trafford..cause I'm sure fergie rested alot of his first team players for that game

posted on 4/11/11

Charlie i think you'll find the Man U team that featured that night were worth at least 20 times more than the Rangers one....

Maryhill for what its worth I totally agree with your point. The only words Lenny left out last night were "world clads performance" for some of the players. Yes it was a good result with practically a reserve team but it shouldn't hide from whats been a shocking season.

A lot of fans on here are now blinded yet again by another good performance while forgetting what happened against Kilmarnock and Hibs. Lenny cant fool me any more like some other fans on here.

He should have just said it was a good performance considering the circumstances and we are just taking one game at a time, but appatently those words dont exist at Parkhead right now.

Motherwell under McGhee v Celtic?

Lenny has every right to wax lyrical about the team last night.

Rennes are a quality side and we performed very well against them. We had about four shots on target and finished three of them.

Showing great heart, concentrating very well and being clinical is all we as supporters can ask for.

Our erratic form this season has been a worry. We are a young side and need to get our mentality right in all competitions.

We beat a good side last night because we played as a team.

We all hope the players build on this performance. Winning on Sunday will be a good start.
