Im not sure about peachy but it aint 82 million
Duke, debt is only a problem if you are unable to pay.
Reducing debt from £82million to £20million takes some doing in the SPL. Nobody batted an eyelid because they were confident in SDM's ability to repay.
I wonder what ROI Close Bros. are charging Whyte...a pretty, pretty penny no doubt..

Murray took on £51m of it and Celtic dominated while Advocaat assembled his £70m team

Did they I thought D ick won 2 from 4 titles including a treble.
Mexican, how about all of the above plus club in hands of the bank with no forseable way out. I know which I prefer. Debt paid off by Whyte, new long term contracts for key players, much needed stadium refurb & new players added to a depleted squad. Only cloud is this impending tax case, if that is dismissed then it's happy days.
Gazza your optimism is staggering...good luck mate..

It isnt bullocks it was simply symptamatic of the world we LIVED in.
SDM was doing well steel was breaking records.
His ability to pay was never questioned.
Do you think the bank would look and say hey they owe us 82 million but cant pay...... no worries they are winning the SPL.
Come on?
Did they I thought D ick won 2 from 4 titles including a treble.

We were talking about the year 2000.When Mon entered the scene and stuffed Murrays' Tenner/Fiver jibe back doon eez throat.
And Advocaat's job
Spot on Duke, No SPL club would be allowed to run up those debts in this financial climate. Not without substantial securities.

Celtic fans were telling you way back then, this would come to know good...
Jealousy was the reply.you accumulated debts worth more than the club and you never thought to question it????
Didn't an ex-director(Hugh Adam) foresee this scenario...a decade ago
And then McLeish came along TCD and it was Mon's time to go.

Im not sure how you pick that up as optimistic.
If and its a big if then things are good.
If and its still a big if it goes against us life will go on Ill still have a mortgage kids to feed work to do.
Rangers will surface in some shape and Celtic might win more football games thats about it.
Given the growing lobby against HMRC and there backdating of the EBTs legislation then we have a chance.
But like you Im not a lawyer or accountant.
TCD, what scenario? You are anticipating Rangers lose this case, what if they win?

Head to head it was 2 each was it not.
Aye...OF whitewash
McLeish won something like 11 Spl points against Celtic during his tenure. If EVER a manager fluked titles, it wiz Eck.
Tis why you sought a new manager behind his back, 2 months into a new season after you'd won the league

Forget the tax case...£10m yer losing without Euro football£18m ye owe Whyte.
Unlike Murray, oor Craig will be looking for that back

I think theres more to it than that..If Rangers are found to be 'guilty' Scottish football will go in to meltdown...the game as a whole is on the brink..how it is handled is paramount

Celtic fans geeze are they so much cleverer than Rangers fans.
We enjoyed the times.
Many many companies mine included got into big debt it was speculation to accumulation.
The way of the world.
If you predicted it then I assume you got very rich so well done.
Whyte owns the club TCD, and it's his debt. If he sells us on to a billionaire Arab & manages to earn himself a few sheckles into the bargain then who am I to complain!!
Did he not win a treble?

Yeah he did...while we were achieving bigger things.
Seville surpasses MON's treble for me...Some of those results were way above expectation. The domestic scene was a side issue...which is why I consider Eck a lucky manager for Rangers.
