Moyes stuck him on the left wing instead of the old inside left. Bily plays inside the left flank as an attacking midfielder for Russia. Far from lacking a football brain, it is quite plain that his forward thinking is very advanced it is his lack of pace that lets him down. The frustration you see from him is the inability of his team mates to see the same pass that he can, ironically the player that was on the same wavelength left for Arsenal.
