Again, with our game in hand, including the next fixtures coming up, you against Arsenal, Spurs at home to Sunderland, i dont think its unrealistic for us to be within 3/4 point of you by new year. Do you?

And to be honest, you was the one who wrote "LOL" after Spurs defeat. I'm assuming this was because you thought you wouldnt lose to Chelsea to make Chronic's prediction less likely. The fact is, our loss to Stoke hasn't changed the situation much at all. You still only need to slip up 2 more times over xmas & before new year - its not ridiculously unlikely.

As i said before, i just feel you gave it far too early. Thats the only reason we're having this debate now.

I didn't think we wouldn't lose to Chelsea at all, if you sift through enough posts I'm sure you'll find one along the lines of "I fully expect our unbeaten run could end tonight".

Chronic got it dished out to him because he predicted a win you didn't get, I predicted naff all, so dish it out back at me because my team lost at Stamford Bridge, but that's hardly an embarassment.

I cant see where Chronic did predict the win though. I'm not sticking up for Chronic, but i think most footy fans would have thought Spurs would do better against Stoke & Sunderland, compared to City v Chelsea & Arsenal - in fact they still might.

If we beat Sunderland & City drop points against Arsenal, Chronic's end-prediction isnt far off.

And i'm not giving you stick for losing at Chelsea, i just think you gave it too early. A statement i said before the game, if you remember rightly.

There you go again 'if we beat Sunderland and City drop points against Arsenal' - 606 last season was riddled with Spurs fans predicting 'ifs' and 'buts' about what the League could look like after the next few games. Usually, the complete opposite happened, eg West Ham, Blackpool, Wigan games, and Chronic was doing the same pre Stoke. I don't know if you used the old 606, which would explain why you don't seem to understand what angle I'm coming up here, but Spurs fans having broken crystal balls was a recurring theme because so many would come on our board predicting results and fall flat on their faces. For that reason I came on and gave Chronic a bit of abuse after your game at weekend, it has nothing to do with the Chelsea v City game.

Yes, i was on the old 606 & i recall being told by everyone that Spurs would never ever finish 4th. Then we would never enter the CL-proper. Then we would never get out that group. Then we wouldn't beat AC. Dont worry, i've been on the wrong end of the flack, as well as dish it out (thats not what i'm doing here by the way).

If you go back to my first post, i simply said that posts like yours could come back to bite you, the simple fact is - it did.

You thought that a win against Chelsea would put Chronic's prediction so far out of sink that you could mock him/Spurs, hence your "LOL" remark. The fact is, however, City's result against Chelsea has put the teams in exactly the same position - with Spurs just needing to win their home game "in hand" (not that its a given) to be just 4pts behind City, and itf City stumble against Arsenal - then it could be just 1pt.

Yes, of course its all ifs & ands, but its still the prediction that Chronic made - the only difference is, we're 1 fixture on.

I just thought it was daft (i've done it myself, you know ) mocking the prediction a few hours before City's game - because it turns out you didnt actually get the last laugh at all - you just looked a bit, how can i say this?, you have come across as a bit premature in your come back & your mocking of Chronic now looks a bit pointless. If City had won, or even drawn, then yeah - but there's no change in the situation at all, so why the "LOL".

To be fair Chicken you seem like a pretty level headed Spurs fan, which in my experience of 606 is quite a rarity, as most of the ones I come across seem to have an unhealthy obsession with caps lock user names and the diva smiley. Hence my use of 'LOL' was to appeal to my target audience, one of which had earlier used the term 'epic fail'. Whether City won or lost it didn't matter because I hadn't predicted any scores, being a superstitious blue who has learnt to expect the worst, so mocking fans with broken crystal balls is a hobby of mine, regardless of the City score.

I wasn't sneering. The problem i had with your prediction was your flawed "tactical reasons" for it. The only reason you went for the draw (at the time) was because the game was so far ahead & you didnt want us assuming our points total would be so close to yours.

I'm still convinced that you would have gone nowhere near a draw result, if you had the chance to put money on it.

But you DO lack a cutting edge at times when teams pack their own half, as you have learnt recently due to your strong form.

I regularly bet on United and Spurs to win in my accumulator because I count on being unlucky.
