Yup - win against west brom and bolton and we will be two points above relegation. Thats assuming no other teams win of course. Then we only have to wait another ten games to come round before we get entitled to win that Kean might have a chance of winning. So by then we should only be 12 points adrift.
It doesn't matter that it was Sunderland's first O'Neill game - you have to win some games you're not supposed to. Over the course of Kean's entire run he hasn't won enough games, less in this season than last. Why bother giving him more time to continue that poor record?
6 winnable games:
W1 D1 L2
You classed them all as winnable maybe. Before this run of games I would bee satisfied with a point at wigan and didn't expect anything from sunderland AWAY.
If we won all of our so-called 'winnable' games we would be competing for the title. use some common sense.
"If we won all of our so-called 'winnable' games we would be competing for the title. use some common sense."
No danger of that with Kean - show some common sense.
What are our winnable away games?
We lost that game again today cos of kean negative tactics after the goal, you can't just sit back and hope for the best. Hope he gets sacked tomorrow
You do have a struggle on your hands, without doubt. What blackburn have in their favour is the ability to score goals. What counts against you is the defence is left exposed. I hope you find a way to shore up the defence and still create problems going forward. Genuinely enjoy watching you play and i think keane deserves some credit for that. But it's a results business and the manager does deserve to take the flack. Maybe he's getting too much though?!
Not get carried away the 6 winnable games we have played 4 of them lost 2 draw 1 won 1, 4 points not very good is it .We now have to win next 2 home games and we have never won back to back games under Kean
Not get carried away i'm panicking
Can Kean get carried away? By an army of small ants all the way to fecking Antartica.
What was his half time team talk like? We were a completely different team in the second half. Some midfield composure and forward contribution could have made the difference for us.
WOW, I admire your sentiments and agree the injuries did not help, but why try to defend for the rest of the game when taking the lead? It has shown time and time again that we will always concede goals and as soon as Sunderland scored it was obvious that we would lose again.
There have been to many excuses for Kean and admittedly there will always be exceptions, however his record speaks for itself and I am afraid there is no defending that.
I doubt very much that Venkys will sack him and he will not resign, that leaves Blackburn Rovers as a Championship team next term.
I hope that I am proved wrong and I will be the first to admit it if I am.
On a lighter note I am traveling 300 miles next week to see Rovers v West Brom. The last time I saw this fixture was in the Championship and Rovers came from 1 - 0 down to win 2 - 1. Hopefully history will repeat its self.
On a second point that wife beating fool Stan Collymore, on Talksport, was bleating on about Rovers fans booing when they scored last week and said it was disgraceful and loyal fans would not do that. He was saying this as the Sunderland fans were booing their team off at half time.
Did not even mention this!
We are becoming the Millwall of the North were everybody hates us.
'Winnable away games.'
Even for a team going for the title, the conventional wisdom is to aim to win your home games and draw your away games. Of course every away game is in theory 'winnable,' but we shouldnt be going into any away game in this league demanding a win.
"Not getting carried away"
"sunderland will be a very tough game etc etc.
It proved that today. That was the biggest Sunderland home crowd of the season bar their derby game vs Newcastle".
So what!!...... We were playing 11 v 11 on a football pitch....we weren't playing the crowd.
Please explain what you mean by this: "To me, Kean (through no fault of his own) having no subs available for almost the entire second half is similar to playing with 10 men"......sounds like absolute tosh to me.
"Salgado was doubling up with Lowe really well"......I seem to recall a few threads back (of yours somewhere) that Salgado was "deadwood".
Look....... I know you aren't keen on statistics but check this very simple one...... MON has been in the job for one week.....Kean has been in his job for a year and 36 games.
The difference is that one is a manager and the other isn't.
This idiot has to go pronto!!
we're not demanding wins, we just don't wanna be in the bottom 3, 4 points from safety. he deserves to be sacked.
We are 15 games in, 23 to go, 12 at home. Say we win half of those games (much better than Kean's record) = 18 points. So sum that together with our current situation 28. That means we need 12 points from 6 other home games and 11 away games. At some point we simply have to start taking points (multiple) away from home and I'd suggest a Sunderland team on a shocking run with no real strikers has got to be a big chance gone. If we don't get wins, will we go down without even a whimper?
Rover the hill, when you put it like that, we really are in deep trouble.

It's a very bad league this year i don't think 40 points will be needed
It's not a matter of getting carried away over the match today. It's a matter of realising that if we keep playing like this, like we have all season, we are going down on 25 or 26 points.
If today had been a one-off, no one would give a damn. It wasn't. It was completely typical of the way we play under Kean. He needs to go.
I reiterate, and will continue to do so:
0.67 points per game, we are an embarrassment to the premier league, People want to play us, that is not a good thing. No one is getting carried away we all just did the right thing and sent the jury out after Swansea, I'm sure (with one or two exceptions) that we all prayed for victory today, regardless of our opinions of Kean we all want to see Rovers survive, I frankly don't care if they put elmo in charge as long as rovers do well!
The Club you allegedly support is Blackburn Rovers,
It is not Steve Kean, Venkys, Doris from accounts, Bert the janitor, or any other individual. If one individual is not performing they must be removed for the sake of the collective!
*I do not know if Bert or Doris exist but any semblance to any persons living or dead is purely coincidental
120: Keans Stats:
Played 15 - Points 10
Ratio 0.67 points per game
Extrapolates to: 26pts over 38 games
Bert Out!!
Doris can fl*ming well go too!!
People want to play us, that is not a good thing
---------------------------------------------------------------
So true. We used to have a rep for being tough, hard to break down; teams hated coming to Ewood cos we were so strong there.
Those were the days!
Yep! Those were the days under big Sam. It's a pity he didn't have the tactical know how that Kean has got, he could have still been here.
I don't recall us playing THAT negatively under Sam like we did today. Utter s hite.

I'm pretty sure it was you that described them as winnable in your earlier defence of Kean after losing all the other games. Look at it this way, in the last month we've played 3 teams in the bottom 6 and a newly promoted team. We're lucky to have the 4 points we got.
Frankly, there's not going to be an easier run all season...
Pie,
I'm not pretty sure I am positive that it was Wow who stated "We have 6 winnable games coming up things will look a lot better then"
He just says whatever comes into his mind at any particular time.
