The PL rules on transfers only make it illegal to talk with a player or his representatives. They don't actually mention the press. That is presumably why 'arry always makes reference to his transfer targets in the press with out being accused of tapping up.
Dont know about that but in football terms ...yes
---------------------------------------------------------
What does that mean, that's the worst attempt at a fudged answerer I have ever seen.
If you offer a player of another club a deal at yours then you will get done .....Did Chelsea do that and if they did then how did they do it , is the question
Well that clearly did not happen did it. Spurs have already admitted they received a fomal written bid.
Also, Modric has said in a n official newspaper interview that one of the terms of the agreement to signing a new contract is that himself and Levy agred to discuss any serious offers that subsequently come in for the player.
So either Modric did know alreadyor Levy went back on his word.

As to my answer to your question , care to explain how that was fudge ....In football yes , other walks of life ..I don't know how is that fudged

Chelsea have offered to treble the wages of Arsenal chief scout Steve Rowley.....is that tapping up aswell?

I was referring to the official interview he gave in the Daily Telegraph. So you have not even read it, oh my god!
So when it comes to football, your views on human rights go out of the window do they?
JJflash (U7914)
I had already read the article, i asked you for the evidence to back up your claim as to what Chelsea has offered Rowley and to confirm they are actually trying to get him.
There is no supporting evidence in this article, just a claim by the journalist.

Don't you understand .....Unless the interview is given by the club it's not official ........Modric has no right to use the media to try to engineer a move , he gets paid to play football not comment to the papers on a very "touchy" subject
and don't make me laugh about footballers and their awful human rights ....When they sign that contract to receive huge amounts of cash they also sign up to a code of conduct which is expected from them by the club
Sorry mate but your points are getting sillier and weaker by the minute
Oh and BTW that wasnt even the quote ...he said ..Levy said he would consider it , he didn't say he would discuss it with him

Wrong!
He (Levy) said, ‘We will sit, speak and see what is the best option’ for both Tottenham and for me.

The point is that it is Modric's official interview, not the club's. It is therefore authentic just like Levy's statement is also authentic.
And under both common and European law footballer's, just as any other human being, whatever their profession, are entitled to the same human rights as anyone else.
And you last paragraph is the sign of someone who lost an argument a long time ago.
Hardly surprising, when you were attempting to debate without all the available official information.

I would be just as angry about the situation if the boot was on the other foot. And maybe evidence will come to light to show Chelsea did something wrong. As you said, it has happened before, but until then its not right to accuse the club of wrong doing.
You fee let down by Modric and are taking it out at Chelsea.
I honestly think Modric will give Spurs one more season to see if they can get in the CL, so take a breather and see what happens in a year from now.

Ok,here you go.It is not official from your club.
It is however officially from Modric and it is officially true

Spuds never have been one to engage their brains before they speak/type
The problem is, when Chelsea are concerned it is guilty until proven innocent, yet when it involves one of their own teams it is "media lies" and a "non-story", when it comes to Chelsea there always is and has been double standards

What he has posted has nothing to do with being able to talk to the press about having made a bid for a player.
Not that we did that anyway. The only people who actually spoke to the press other than Modric are 'arry and Levy.
geniusgreaves (U1302)
It's like bashing your head against a brick wall on this thread ....They simply wont accept anything they don't like the look of .........I've said the same things over and over again as indeed you have and TBH I simply cannot be bothered any more
