Gradel, clayton, Kasper, naylor, kisnorbo, sodje, Keogh,
Well again. If he had more money he probably wouldn't have signed all of those players. Bannan, good player. So is Livermore apparently but didn't work out.
Dont agree with some of them Frank, such as Kasper, Naylor, Keogh and this season especially Kisnorbo...and Mcarthy well yes but we shouldn't of needed him if we hadn't signed such an awful keeper in Rachubka
Given the names you have listed for the most part a bunch of freebies and temporary loan signings you have demonstrated just how poorly Bates has backed Grayson.
Any half decent players not at the end of their careers will command a fee and the going rate for wages, neither of which Bates is prepared to pay. He's too busy throwing millions at function rooms and a hotel. Leaving Grayson to scrimp and scrape about with the transfer left overs.
You don't agree that kasper schmeichel and Richard naylor were good signings?
If Grayson didnt use his whole budget on deadwood, then we would have spare cash. Our squad is to big, and your argument of us not paying fees is wrong. Longergan cost 750,000 and Pugh 500,00 that is a considerable amout considering our wages are so high
£150,000 for Lonergan per the following article (I thought it was £250,000):
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Everton-lose-out-Preston-Andy-Lonergan-as-cannot-match-Leeds-offer-for-150k-rated-star-article776173.html
No Frank I dont, Kasper was so amazingly overrated was a decent shot stopper but command and communcation was non existant. Hence at the end of the season he was sold off. Naylor was given a long term contract when he was 31, he made a good immediate impact but was poor from then on in.
750,000 is wrong, where have you heard that?
Closer to the time that was the price quoted, whatever it was it was money. Anyway dont move away from the fact Graysons record is poor which you have yet to prove wrong
Well in your opinion its poor.
I think he has some players that have done fantastic, some that were great on paper but didn't work out, and some complete flops.
This is what most managers tend to do.
Kato...what was ericsson's & mclaren's record like ?

Just as bad hence they are no longer in a job
The wage budget IS huge. Bates told us so the other day. And he never lies

Brighton spent at least 2.5 million. There's one example to start you off
Good call, thats two in a league of twenty four.. name more please!
No I will leave it to you or others, because it's a point that's very difficult to argue either way as most transfers at this level have undisclosed fees attached and we can only really speculate at wages
but they have better quality of players, ericsson spent cash leicester did rock all, mclaren wanted cash to spend he didn't get owt so walked, what i'm saying is larry should be judged after he's got decent signings, not freebies & loans players no body else wants..

I can't think of any managers that would be willing to come to Leeds that can do a better job than Larry. Its frustrating because we can't quite get that winning team, we don't sign players that will take up that step further. No matter who the manager, players or chairman is up Leeds fans ALWAYS support our team. whether it be in a critical or positive manor. Stick together and well be still up their! Mot!
harj altough I see your point of view..I just feel that 3 years in the job at some point he must of got the man he wanted..or has had plenty of opportunity to push the boat it. He seems reluctanct to get a marquee signing but instead opts for "big name" loans or goes for "experience" and we end up with a Dickov

There you go. We have gone full circle in this thread. Why do you think he would be reluctant................. Answer is he isn't
