I think if we can get that sort of money then it's good business. Pilks, although a great player has had a bad injury and who knows how he is going to play after that. Sometimes players can't shake off the memory and are never the same.
Also, in reality, Pilks has been inconsistent and his forte' is mainly cutting in and shooting. His midfield work on the right doesn't always provide the right strength at key times in key areas.
It may also mean that we are moving away from the 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 and with that we cannot afford to have 2 wide players leaving 2 midfielders against usually 3 or 4 opposing midfielders.

If we were in the championship I wouldn't sell, but we're not and he's maybe worth the sacrifice if we strengthen other key areas which enables us to get promotion this time.?

If we were to sell him then it would be because he wants to leave, I think if he wanted to stay we wouldn't listen to any offers but that probably won't be the case. £1.75m plus a percentage of future transfer fees as well as something involving Cody (season long loan with agreed price maybe) would be more than acceptable for a good League One player.

Remember Brighton only got approximately £2m for Elliott Bennett who in my opinion was much more consistent than Pilks last season.

The Norwich bid has been widely reported, and if I were Pilks with a chance to play in the Premier League I'd jump at it ! It's not a case of disloyalty to Town, it's a case of securing his own future, which could quite easily have ended after the Rochdale game.
