If you call a certain person a word used to describe a group of people, then yes, you are referring to a race of people, thus being racist.

No Jan...I don't think about it either way...I'm going by what the F.A. have deemed Suarez guilty of.

And I think that the FA have made the wrong decision. We'll have to agree to disagree mate. You believe that they've made the right diecision and I think they've made the worng one.

Get it into your thick skull, the N word is not acceptable IN ENGLAND!

-----------------

I know its not you fool. And if a British person were to say it has obvious racial connotations. But in other countries it doesn't so if they use it as a mistake here, not knowing those racial connotataiton then how can you label him a racist.

You're still not getting it in to your head are you.

The FA have not labelled him a racist, they have only found him guilty of racial abuse. I don't see how people can defend this, ignorance or not he used a racial term that Evra found offensive and is now being punished for it

Socieity states that a black man can call another black man a N word

Suarez ISN'T black!

He lived in Europe and should know better! anyone in thier 20's should know whats acceptable and what isn't!

He lives in Engaland and should respect our way of life

FatJan you;'re ignorant! and your views come across that way! just another Liverpool fan who is deluded and blinkered by the club

FatJan,

You babbel () on about connotations yet you are plainly ignoring the fact that this 'connotation' was deemed offensive by the person it was relayed to, thus rendering it a 'racist comment'.

Are British people really this arrogant, that they expect a man who has barely lived in this country for 10 months to know the nuances of our culture straight away. He's had to learn a brand new language and adapt to a new culture

Then again maybe British peope are that arrogant, considering that when a lot of them go abroad they make no effort with other languages, their culture, and look for the first English themed pub that sells an english breakfast.

He didn't think he was being racist. I don't think he was being racist, my friends who are black and asian don't think he was being racist. Yet he has been labelled a racist because he made a mistake.

He is mixed race though. Is that not black enough for you

Going somewhere for a holiday and working in a foreign country are two completely different things.

Me finding an English pub on the Costa Fortune is my choice.

Me being racist in another country displays ignorance and disregard.

You backing it up does the same

Lets put it this way. If for some bizarre reason murder was legal in Country X and a person from Country X came over here and murdered someone would they be guilty or not guilty?

fatjan, no disrespect mate, but i suggest you go back and read through this thread with an open mind.

you have attacked people over the slightest little thing, twisted peoples words left right and centre, ignored posts you can't argue with and attacked people because they have worded things slightly differently to how you have. it's not a good look. makes you look like the liverpool version of vidicschin.

In this country it's legal to purchase alcohol.

But it's ok. By Suarez's standards (and FatJan's arguments) I can go to Iran and get absolutely sheet faced (consequence free).

Explain it mate. All I've said is that I think the FA have made a mistake here because they've ignored the cultural and linguistic differences. I believe Suarez made a mistake. I've not said that is okay to use racial language
