who agrees that centre back is out strongest position (quality+depth) now, after being our weakest for so long.

Why cant people be happy that for the 1st time in god know how long we have 3 really good CB all capable of playing well alongside each other.

Kossy, Verm, Per - All excellent.

I forgot to add that for the 1st time for quite some time i am acutally quite confident that whn we are under pressure we wont buckle like normal.

Its going to be interesting to see what Wenger does when Sagna & either Santos/Gibbs are bk.

What will our best CB partnership be as i feel Per posistionally i really good along with his abilty to be in the right place.

Per's tackling + positioning is fantastic. I honestly do not know how he completes so many tackles when it seems the players got past him.

I really like Mertesacker thought he was outstanding yesterday best performance he looked sharper, better on the ball. I think he's adapted pretty well he's improved in the air as well

If we can get Djourou back to his ore carling cup form we have 4 top quality CBs!

We just need full backs! PS I wouldn't mind Wayne Bridge on loan

John agree with you. Merte develops really good and agree with you that he was one of our best players in a poor performance.

What about Cahill? I read Chelsea is interested too and he would cost "only" 7 m.

yes and coq is better than song isn't he?

Is bendtner still world class john?

Its the statements you said above that devalue your opinions.

Cahill is a good player, he could play for a Top 6 team but currently we are stacked in the CB position. If we are to buy a defender, it has to be a full back but in this window it will be hard to find a good experienced fullback.

Does anyone know when Jenkinson or Gibbs are available.

Gary Cahill isnt going to come. Hes a quality player but CBs isnt an issue for us its full backs and a striker and possibly an attacking midfielder

Not convinced by Gervinho

John, i would even say full back is an issue for us. Its just freakish that out fullbacks and there backups are out injured.

I think a loan would be best if Gibbs is out for awhile as Sagna should be bk late January.

I actually think a striker is needed as im just waiting for RVP to be injured. Its been too long since he has been away from his Best Friend the treatment table.

Anyone who cannot see Vermaelen is not our best defender is clearly deluded. He has everything that any defender would like to have in his game accurate shot, excellent header, and most of all can read the game while defending.

Koscielny is our best defender, I've been saying this for a while. He's a more complete defender than Vermaelen. Vermaelen is a better leader than Kozza, but's improving that part of his game.

Koscielny's passing, tackling, positioning, game reading and arguably heading is better than Vermaelen's.

Oh dear god, I've just read through the comments and I can now safely say that Reverend is a bigger tool than Gav/Hizmo.

Reverend you massive idiot, you absolutely gigantic surfer, I was on that thread and I replied to you on more than one occasion. The fact that you were rubbing his poor performance on my face shows how plastic you are.

Koscielny hasn't had half as many bad games in an Arsenal shirt as Vermaelen has - FACT! I love the way you're writing Kossy off because of a few mistakes he's made in the past. Or I don't know, maybe deep down you know he's a good player but you won't let your obsession with me get the better of you.

So which one is it Rev?
