rodallega, the whole thing came around with being bought for a stupid price... hence the comparison...
and basic maths goes as such:
if bebe=7 then how much should carrol be worth
bebe goals= 4 (before joining)
carroll goals = 34 (before joining)

therefore:

4 = 7
34 = x
4x= 238
x=59.5 million

using bebe and man utd's tranfer mathematics
carroll was a bargain at 35 mil

In the few seasons we've needed decent midfielders we have won the PL 3 out of four times, reached the CL 3 out of four times and lost twice to the greatest team of all time potentially.

"needing" two decent midfielders I'm sure we were

Why are we comparing Carroll to Bebe?

posted on 1/1/12

i dont know... but if you cant beat them...

So andy carroll is a bargain at 35 million as bebe was a rip off at 7.4 million?

comparing goals scored by a striker to a winger is stupid anyway, next you'll show how jones hasn't scored any goals and therefore was the biggest rip off of all!

Wonder man. If that's the wittiest you've got to offer, i'd stay off here before you embarrass yourself further. You've taken the ops article and changed the name to Bramble. Genius

hey i was just going along with the goals scored and amount paid... dont blame me...

liverpool overpaid (or so it seems 1 year later) but in 5 years time, we could be looking back at the 35 and saying "wow, we got him on the cheap" (i really hope we will, but i doubt it)

then again, he might have a great season next year, and the one after that, and we sell him for 30, in which case, it wasnt all that bad

see were im going with this?

Still need proper centre mids, done very well last few seasons but you had scholes in there and gigs played allot in the middle, now it's catching up with you as demonstrated with the early cl exit, giggs is older, Fletcher sick (on a side note that's awful for him hope he gets well soon) scholes is gone and now you're forced to play average defenders in the middle, its mind boggling.

stonfacd, fair enough, i don't understand how bebe was brought in to justify carroll, thats insulting carroll as a player further!

Kneerash, look at our injury list, we are kind of forced to play players out of position unless we rush pogba and morrision into the deep end and let them start, while I would love a CM as a signing having so many players out is just bad luck

To be fair Kneerash we have had awful injuries.

Yes Ferguson got it wrong starting with Rafael and Park in the middle but Carrick was needed in defence so who else was there?

Giggs was being rested, Gibson doesnt look to have a future after refusing to leave last year, Fletcher/Cleverly injured, Anderson just back, etc...

"Anderson just back" I'm so,so sorry

Agree with the injuries lads I posted a comment on you're match thread yesterday about how schocked I was at you're line up, The injuries highlight the lack of midfield options united have though.

Morrison was'nt an option yesterday but pogba would have made sense.

Who can say what would have happened if we had stuck the youngsters in.

We could just as easily have still lost then everyone would be on here going "Why is Fergie playing the youngsters when we could have had Park in there" and "Pogba was awful, looked way out of his depth, cant wait until he leaves"...

I think most decent football fans want their teams winning trophies and ideally with home-grown players. Who wouldnt want to emulate Barcelona and be dominating while providing the majority of the England team.

People laugh at teams for trying to build with British, but I always have respect for those clubs (like Aston Villa), even Liverpool despite their signings not setting the world alight are doing fine.

What?

You dont think that the likes of Walcott, Lennon, Young, Johnson, Sturridge, Welbeck, Rooney etc can be exciting?

posted on 1/1/12

In fairness as a national team we're not exactly solid, and we're about as boring as it's possible to be.

Because the Premier league has been swamped by foreign players.

Dont get me wrong, weve seen some great talents over the years but at the cost of the home national players that might have broken through and been great.
