I would no more go and look at personal abuse on twitter than use it myself - anywhere!
I distance myself from idiots whatever team they support.

You went looking on twitter for just that earlier this afternoon to try & prove your linguist point
---------------------------------------------------
I distance myself from idiots whatever team they support.
--------------------------------------------------
You haven't kept much distance from most of the idiots arguing the case for Suarez 'defence' have you?
In fact you've been upholding some of their ridiculous theories, this very day!
Which deserves a greater punishment, to call a black man a word that means black during a converstaion that is overhead by no-one else or to intentionally abuse millions of viewers by swearing directly into a TV camera?
Don't be coming on this board seeking absolution.
Liverpool was the UK capital of the slave trade in the 18th century. I suppose that makes your current stance justifiable and tenable, too?

Yet again I have to take issue with you over your irresponsible comments. Either you are an Everton Supporter or you are not, if you are, then quite what another Clubs business has to do with you or any of us is beyond me. Undoubtedly you believe your comments to be intelligent and relevant but actually they are not and do nothing but cause argument and antagonism where there was none before.
I accept we had a very small racist element amongst our fans, most clubs,if not all clubs, had one back in the 80`s and 90`s.
Thankfully they have been eradicated.
Johnsonsbaby,do you know who were the first group of fans, from the city of liverpool, that threw bananas at John Barnes?
I am not in anyway scoring points, the subject is far to important for that.
KICK RACISM OUT OF FOOTBALL.
Fsb,
The fact you have to ask the question tells us all we need to know about you.
"You went looking on twitter for just that earlier this afternoon"
But I didn't - the link was posted on here a while ago when everyone was going on about the 'word' being negrito, I copied and pasted.
I haven't upheld any theories from idiot fans today as far as I'm aware.
Crispy - yes I know who first threw the bananas. It was Everton fans. That was the time they proudly wore the badges as well.
Wrong.
Liverpool fans were first to throw them.
V Arsenal away in Barnes first season.
Booger me.
Is that a pub quiz question?
You're wrong. First season away v Arsenal was Barnes debut, he made a goal 9th minute and scored himself, why would that make fans throw bananas at him? Don't believe all you read.
He is right. It really did happen. I know cos i was there andsaw the old fruit and veg barrow lady from Charlotte Street who had pushed her cart down there selling fruit(but not Bananas) on the way so that she could buy a new set of spokes. Mind you the Bananas were soft and rotten but it was a shame to waste them so she sold them off as seconds in the crowd who used them as ammunition.
True.
Lizzie would not sell anything off as fades.
She always persuaded you there was nothing wrong with the fruit.
Concerned, what does your inability to answer a simple question tell us about you?
FSB - seeing as you decided to mount your high horse about a historic issue of racism amongst football fans, without realising that your 'own' were just as guilty....here's something from the PRESENT, not the history books.

For shame
Tobe,
I can't believe that sort of racist insults can be left posted on Twitter. LFC, quickly becoming class free!
Hell's teeth!
To see that sort of posting has left me speechless.
TB, I agree. My comment was a response to the sanctimonious holier than thou attitude of many opposing fans who are expressing their horror at the nasty racist LFC supporters.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
The varying ethnicity of some of those morons on twitter is quite interesting. Maybe that says as much about cross cultural differences in attitudes to race than about football rivalry
Maybe it just says that they're pond life, but largely pond life bearing your club badge as their 'tribe'
I'm not opening that link but I can guess what is there. I distance myself from idiots especially racist idiots, every club has them and I'm ashamed to share an affiliation through support of my football team with them.
I was on the list for ShareLiverpool when they first brought out the proposal of fan ownership - I cancelled my subscription when they got into bed with SoS and I wrote and told them not to bother sending me any more information as I did not like the association with SoS and thought it would harm their campaign as I know lots of others who can't stand that organisation either.
Every club has idiots - it's shameful but I refuse to be tarred with the same brush as them!
TB thats exactly the sanctimonious holier than thou attitude I was talking about.
FSB, you were happy to label rivlal fans as racists. Now when show evidence that it is rife within your own fanbase right now you decide to try and take some sort of moral high ground?
Fellaini, I was highlighting the hypocrisy of other fans by providing evidence of it.
