Fellaini, have you ever told an irish joke?

Mr Evra and the panel found Suarez's use of the word 'Negro' and its method of use offensive.

I wouldn't expect many white men to be offended

Read section 128-131 of the FA report. Evra was livid at the time because he claimed that Suarez called him a nig***

I wouldn't blame him at all for being offended by that. But that is not what he was actually called.

FSB,

That chap you mentioned casting the first stone.
With a bit of luck it will hit you squarely on the napper.

Evra and Ferguson complained to the ref that Suarez called him a nig*** . They did not complain that he had been called a negro.

Do you wonder why you are only allowed to write one of those words on here?

Ah you are really trying to get the race element switched here.

I am sure a joke based on nationality may somehow be offensive.

However if I were present when racist comments were made i woul dbe offended, so race is not the issue here. Its the RACIST remarks

Fsb,
you could not be the one throwing stones.
Judging by your stance you are almost certainly NOT without sin

Typical statement from the characters posting in defence of Suarez ?

"I am not racist.
I have lots of coloured friends"

Racism is the propensity to view ones own race as superior to another. An example would be a member of one race (anglo-saxon) telling jokes that generalise another race (ie Gaelic) as stupid.

Most Irish peole would not take offence if you said that all Irishmen are Irish but you may find a few who would be offended by the racist comment (or indeed the insinuation) that all irishmen are thick.

Have you ever told an irish joke? If so, are you racist? If not, why not?

posted on 5/1/12

Now you are assuming that I have told an irish joke. Or the company I was in thought it to be offensive.

You can only take offence at something which is said, maybe I am wise enough to know my audience, something Suarez is unable to do

I'm not assuming, I'm asking. Aren't you going to answer? Have you ever laughed at an Irish joke. Do you think it would be racist to do so?

FSB,
What can we assume your stance on racism is when you refuse to answer a simple question.

Which is the worst comment?

1,The racist one that "nobody else heard"

2, Or the one with the player swearing into the camera.

What are you trying to say? The worst racism I have seen against my mates did not involve any spoken words.

Concerned, you can assume what yu like about me but I am vehemntly anti-racist. I am also disturbed that the serious issue of racism is being reduced to the issue of calling a black fella black.

Anti-racism would be far better served by thoroughly investigating the failures in the Lawrence case and making sure that such travesties never occur again.

I would rather see Herman Ouseley concerning himself with issues like that.

Is that not the base of racism?

Fellaini, yes I understand your reply. You're saying that its ok to be racist but make sure that you're audience won't be offended. Well, thats alright then

Is race exclusively about colour then? Was Hitler racist? Can you explain the Aremenian genocide in terms of colour? (if it happened )

Concerned, so its worse to verbally abuse one black man than to verbally abuse several million of unspecficied ethnicity. By that same logic is someone who kills a single black man worse than Hitler?

posted on 5/1/12

Fsb,

Your logic is not logical.
You are twisting and wriggling, trying to get yourself out of the hole you dug for yourself.

Am i right in saying you refer to Rooney swearing into the camera?
Is that worse than 1 person racially abusing 1 person?
Every time.

"Concerned,so it`s worse to verbally abuse one black man..........."

I thought you based your argument on Suarez did not verbally abuse Evra?
