Also this made me chuckle slightly

United down by 3 goals to Newcastle and

"Lionel Perez took a penalty in his farewell appearance for Cambridge United. He missed, but hit it so hard that the opposing keeper had to go off injured. Great moment."

YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! Three vital points for us and thank you Gary Cahill. You've done us proud tonight and in your time here. Good luck to you.

And well done to ALL the boys tonight. It would have been easy for their heads to go down after that goal. They kept their heads and got us a great win. And just for Once I think Owen got absolutely EVERYTHING right tonight.

I'm a big fan of his but I'd be the first to admit he does baffle me with tactics and substitutions sometimes but tonight I thought everything went just fine and dandy thank you!

Oh my word! I just realised! I got a prediction right! Three points for the win AND the correct scoreline as well! WOW!!!!!!! Shame I didn't get the first goalscorer though. Wanderersforever how about giving everybody the points for that as no one could possibly have guessed it? Please? Pretty please?

Got to feel sorry for Bogdan..

Usually a gk wouldn't ever get thy air but the wind added real pace to it and I think most keepers would have misjudged that.. Very unfortunate it ended up in the goal however.. Experience is vital for him and he will learn from this error.

Super goal from Ngog, nice move from Eagles, Mavies and Nige, with superb quick feet and finish from Davideeee!

AWWWW! WF you mean person!

actually I DON'T CARE!!!! WE WON! AWAY! AFTER GOING BEHIND!

I'm so happy I can't stand it! Now where's Reebokrebel and Petrov and Bricks to tell us all that we're doomed.

You know what, they may be right in the end but just for tonight I am gonna grin and grin until my ears fall off!

In addition,... Great work from Eagles collecting the ball and playing it through to Cahill who finished like a striker as always.

What a great player he's been.. He will flourish at Chelsea or wherever he ends up.

Petrov! Happy New Year fella!

I think we might just have reason to hope here you know. We do have four points from a possible six and on Saturday I would have taken that. I sort of hoped for a win against wolves and a point tonight but I'm actually very very chuffed with Owen's tactics and selection tonight AND the fact the lads didn't let their heads drop after conceding a goal that must have made them think even God didn't want a Trotters win.

Feel really sorry for Adam with that because it was such a freak and for everything else he looked a far better keeper than the one who got battered by Chelsea.

It might be heresy to some people but I'd seriously consider leaving him in for the macclesfield match and if he does well there leave him in for the next few games. Thoughts?

What a great TEAM performance, surely we must stick with 4-5-1 now...Ngog was amazing up front, ran his heart out and went up for every header on his own..IMO we need to play M.Davies in behind him and we'll create more chances...top stuff!...Still not sure about NRC..too slow and gives the ball away way too much..but we won so who cares

i have said for the last 3 weeks n'gog & eagles up front but i must say i was disappointed with eagles,i said we would win 1-0 so everything as turned out fine and i also said we wont go down ,its good to be right some of the time

L.P.P.i dont blame adam bogden for that goal and yes i would play him v macc but i dont think he's ready just yet,its a pity we cant afford to put him out on loan for some experience, just think were wrong end of the table to take chances at the moment, but he will get his chance.

Only seen our second goal once but was N'gog not about 5 yard offside? Cahill flicked it on and N'gog challenged the keeper, he looked well offside to me.

Also a word for steinsson..unsung hero tonight simply faultess

golden I agree he wasn't to blame. It's a one in a million freak.

But for my money Jussi has seriously creaked many times this season and in all honesty with him in the last year of his deal I think it's time we start to phase him out.

We have those horror fixtures coming up with five of the top seven in pretty close order and I honestly think Adam should be given a shot at it. We're not really expected to get anything (QPR and Swansea are the exceptions and I'd be willing to bet Swansea will be a tough game at best) but if Adam chips in with good performances then it would be one heck of a boost for the lad. It depends on your point of view of course but I honestly believe that we need to look to the future. Owen's already doing that with SKD so perhaps he should do it with Jussi too.

fair point knowitall. He sent one pass astray very close to the end but other than that he was good all night.
