Our best performance this season by far, forget the 4-0, forget the 5-0, tonight the players showed a resolve and fighting spirit that has been lacking all season.
BUT this win means absolutely nothing if we line up 4-4-2 against the worst United team for a while that are there for the taking and get pasted. For that reason I'm still not at all convinced by Coyle, but credit where it's due, can't fault anything tonight.
Okay I can, but it's only a small one, I didn't like how Gary Cahill was captain, but that's all.
I've just seen it again, seriously when Cahill flicks it on N'gog is about 4 yard offside, our luck mest be changing. It's on here if you want to see it

L.P.P.it could be the making of him,but could also knock him back if we get bad results, like i said before if we were safe i would't think twice, but i dont think this is the time, but not saying your wrong though
Mr T Gary's been captain whenever Kev didn't start all season. And if this was his last game as a trotter he did the club and the armband proud.
In my opinion he deserved to wear it as he's been a fine servant of the club and it would have been a very good way to say farewell don't you think?
fair point golden. But for the QPR and swansea games I'd definitely play him. Maybe the other five are a bit much for him in such close succession given our current plight.
Either way he did well tonight and looking at the replay he appears to have had that heart stopping free kick covered as well. If it had been going in he'd have got a hand to it.
Anyway, great performance by all the guys tonight. Got to agree with Mr T, best performance of the season so far given the circumstances. COYWM
Credit where it is due well done to Coyle for the 4-5-1 formation and credit to the lads for digging deep and showing character and resolve to bounce back so well from that freak goal.
A lot rides of the United game now 2 defeats on the bounce now we could nick a point if we play to our strengths and go 4-5-1 again.
More of the same please Mr.Coyle.
And if Cahill leaves what a fitting way to bow out if he leaves he goes with my full respect a very good player and what seems like a decent bloke all the best Gary.
Time for Owen to beef up the numbers before utd. Centrehalf creative mid right winger and CF. Utd look there for the taking in terms of a poss draw. No Suarez for Liverpool so look at three points then arsenal here and that's a never know result.
Coyle got tactics right tonight. Get some consistency now Owen and learn no 442 away from home!!
A battling Bolton team performance, and a positive slice of luck too ..... Wonders will never cease!
TBH, it's been a long time coming, but we couldn't have asked for more tonight, in a difficult away game, in nightmare weather conditions. We've still got to keep that momentum going, if there's any chance of avoiding relegation, but, if we string together a few performances like that over the next few games, we may pick up a few (unexpected) points.
I'm wary of going overboard of course, what with the ' false dawns ' of the wins over Wigan, Stoke and Blackburn still fresh in the mind ...but tonight's performance (especially) - and the result - gives even an old cynic like me fresh HOPE
Truth is with our run of form in 2011 maybe we are finally due to turn a corner and string some results together now.
Everyone has good spells and bad spells maybe ours is finally over and some teams higher up like Swansea and Norwich who have not really had a bad run yet might hit sticky form soon (fingers crossed) and get sucked back into the dog fight.
LPP, I see what you mean, I just don't think that someone that could leave any day should be leading the boys out. Fair play to Cahill, he's obviously a top player and person off the pitch and did the team and himself proud tonight but Nige should have lead us if you ask me. What does it matter anyway, we won! :D
On another note, I can't believe what I've just read here, I must have it wrong. I've just copied and pasted this, no word of a lie, off the BBC's very own website:
"It was a morale-boosting night all round for Bolton as under-fire striker David Ngog scored his first goal for nearly three months and they secured back-to-back Premier League victories - after their win at Blackburn - for the first time since September 2009. "
What???!!!!
I think they meant back to back away wins Mr.T
I have to say ...the funniest comment I saw all night during the game came from the BBC's Weds night Live thread ......
Everton goal: For once, this is not a typo from me, Tim Howard really has netted for Everton.
Minutes later .....
Mike from London on text: "I believe Howard wasn't a typo but are you sure Ngog is right?"
PRICELESS.
BWFC Forever - you are spot on (and a bit sad for knowing that )
MOTD have done brilliantly to make it look like Everton dominated that - no sight of our penalty shout either.
Agreed Mr T ...if they could have altered Baines's free kick to have gone in off the bar, I reckon they would have! Have to say though ...having now seen the Tim Howard goal, there's nothing Bogdan could have done ..not his fault - he wasn't out of position at all when you bear in mind where the ball was when it was struck ...just a freak goal.
Having also seen MU, and the way they defended, expect a bid for Cahill from OT within the next day or two .....
We had more possession, more attempts on goal.....a few passes through the middle for Ngog to run on to.....they scored a fluke. Well done lads.
Only complaint I have is trying to waste time near the end....it almost cost us.
Im on cloud 9
However...its ONE win...coyles not on the green yet...lets hope we can push on now...again...we all knw what happened after the last win...and the one before that...
Only complaint I have is trying to waste time near the end....it almost cost us.
****
Ah c'mon ..you can't moan about that really .... all 20 prem managers would have had their teams doin' exactly the same, in such circumstances ......
... and if Bolton had gone all out for a third, and conceded an equaliser ..we'd all be on here now, crucifyin' OC and the team for not taking the ball into the corners and runnin' the clock down ..... (Oh yes, we would!)
