Squad Places

Bentley signed a six year deal I thought doo doos?

Hope so otherwise we'll get zip for him for a start...

I reckon Caulker might have another season on loan somewhere, which means getting a replacement in for Bassong... Also Adam Smith can challenge Naughton for the right back understudy role.

Further up the field we need two forwards to replace Ade and Pav, a winger (Hoilett ideally) to compete with Bale and Lennon and IMO another midfielder to replace Kranjcar and understudy Van der Vaart. I like Niko but I don't think he is good enough for the way this team is developing and the fact that VDV is never going to the fittest of our squad so needs cover/long term competition..

We need to look after Tom Carroll too as he is the pick of the bunch in terms of the reserves/loan guys

Mouse, I hope your right. I just hate when people always say with the majority of our squad they are good for back up and cup competitions. Yes to a certain extent I agree but how much back up do we need. We need real quality to challenge places in first team.

Almost wish the old "Revolving Door" at Spurs was still in place for such situations

gio is one of the most perplexing issues currently at spurs.

we all know the kid is talented.

infact easily in the top ten players in the club in terms of TALENT. but he is wasting it. harry thinks he doesnt apply himself in training, so he doesnt play, so he is demotivated and tries less.

a real shame because not many players have scored goals hatricks (i think) for barca's first team and gone on to have a poor career.

shame.

Good assessment Butters, though I fancy Adam Smith to be loaned to a Championship/Lower Premiership team next year if the progressions of Walker and Caulker are anything to go by.

Would really like to see Caulker back challenging for a place though.

I like the look of Townsend and Carroll... those two could actually make it at spurs.

Livermore wont, Kane wont

Cualker will.

Exactly Chronic, Gio should ideally be excellent cover for VDV, Lennon or Bale with the talent he has but if only he tried harder in training.

GOD DAMN YOU GIO

such a shame. however lets think about this... when Harry goes if we do still have Gio lurking about.. maybe thats exactly what he needs... he might respond to a new man who maybe appreciates him a bit more, or at least pretends to, and then he could shine. you never know.

unless a good offer comes in i would be inclined to hang onto him a bit longer...

how long does he have left on his contract anyone?

If Harry can't get Gio playing for him then I don't know which manager could. Mourinho?

Townsend is 20 now and needs to start doing it regularly in the Championship if he's ever going to make it at Spurs.

Oceana manager.

Also a bit harsh on Kane there, he's only 18 and already playing in the Championship.

Khumalo

What a pointless signing if ever there was one! Is he not just a myth?!

Do we really think Gio can make it in the PL?

He always seems to try hard when he gets chances but he's not up to it in my opinion. Spain or Italy would see him flourish.

I just feel if Gio received the same kind of love that Ade is getting then it might work out. When Ade came to us everyone said he will just sulk after a couple of games but he is playing great (minus needing to score a little more).

I have a bad feeling if we sold Gio it would come back to haunt us.

Gio probably will make it elsewhere, but for now he is just taking up room on our bench, a bench which is looking weaker each week, hardly surprising we dont rotate the team when we have no one after our first 12 players worthy of coming on

he looked poor in the europa league.

in comparison to townsend and carroll at least. and livermore to be fair to him.

not sure. we dont know. he hasnt had any kind of run in the side in any competition.

personally i think its too late now for him at spurs. shame because i was very excited when we bought him.

he was better than carlos vela but vela did more for arsenal than gio did for us.

where is vela now btw?

Could say the same for Bentley. Much too much, much too young.

Kane looked very poor for me he's not got a future with us.

GazMan - how would Gio come back to haunt us? At best he'll end up at a side like Seville, I say we cash in ASAP.

RRP - i'm convinced rotation is the way, especially if we're to take the cups seriously.. but you're right - players like Gio & Pienaar aren't cutting the mustard

Gio is a donkey.

I'm not a fan of his to say the least.

Get rid Harry.

No i meant by showing his real talent somewhere else, i didn't mean he would score against us or anything.
